Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Very comfortable bed and pillows. The staff were very helpful when I explained I needed a walk in shower and not one over the bath. Good breakfast. Great location for getting around Cologne. Very easy walking distance of the station.

We checked out and just 5 mint later I remember that I forgot something in the room, I went to the reception for help to get back to the room but they say that I have to wait for someone to go with me, I couldnt wait long because, I had a taxi waiting. I didnt receive any intention for help or try to look for my things, I left without it....

Great location with easy walk to train station and beyond. Quiet and relaxing. Really enjoyed TV with casting capability so we could watch Prime from my phone.

There's always a dread that there's going to be something wrong when turn up at a hotel and this was the case here. I'd booked an Executive room and we arrived at about 6pm after a plane and train trip to be told that house keeping hadn't cleaned the room and even though I wanted to wait there was no option it appeared to be able to do this so I think it was more like overbooking than house keeping. We were given a 'generally the same' room (as we were told) which was very good but not the executive room that I'd bought and paid for. As compensation I was given breakfast for my wife and myself for the 2 days which was nice but not really necessary as this is not needed as the Executive lounge, which is excellent, provides as much as you needed. I just would have liked the room that I'd arranged everything else was excellent particularly the Exectutive Lounge.
Great hotel, quality feel, wonderful staff, super position being close to the main train station, Catherdral and about a 10 minute walk to the main shopping centre. We stayed for 2 nights and apart from the experience I had with the room would definately stay at again.

Some of the front staff were excellent, while others were rude and unhelpful. The shampoo bottle was empty in the shower when we arrived, though there was shower gel. It wasn't very easy to extend our stay by 1 day. We had to go through multiple people at the front desk and it took about 30 - 40 min to get that done. Otherwise the stay was decent. Would I stay again? Probably not.
The location was great! Very close to the cathedral, train station, restaurants, and shopping district. All is within a 10 min walk. Our room was spacious and I found the bed comfortable.
