Check in took a little bit longer than we would have liked, the floorboards were incredibly creaky and made a lot of noise when you walked on them.

Location was close to many of the shops, main square, and close to the wall walk. Staff were incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Food was good and the room was really nice.

The shower was a little small with the wrong shower head - that was my only concern…

It was in the style of the old town and had a perfect feel. It had more the feel of a home than a big hotel, which is what we wanted. The staff went out of their way to make things perfect for us, nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the market square. Our studio apartment was in the annex in a nearby street. Genghis the manager did his utmost to ensure our stay was enjoyable, helping us navigate through the town and parking our car and suggesting dining options. The a la carte breakfast was suburb, with ample choice of fresh bread, pastry, eggs, bacon, fruit, yoghurt and more!

The breakfast was very good and their homemade jam was excellent. The bed was the most comfortable my wife has ever slept on!

This hotel was a remarkable choice for our accommodation. The breakfast setting is nothing short of breathtaking. The location is exceptionally convenient, situated just steps away from a vibrant market, restaurants, and shops. The hotel itself is charming, radiating a historic ambiance that transported us to a different time. However, it is crucial to note that the absence of elevators may pose challenges for individuals who require wheelchair access. Nevertheless, the overall experience was so lovely.

Staying in the first week of June 2025 at Hotel Herrnschlösschen for 2 and a half days was an amazing experience for my wife and I and our 17 year old son, we were happy to see the expectations that we had while selecting the hotel, were not only met but exceeded. Hotel Herrnschlösschen is located in the centre of the old town with walking distance to all areas to see with quaint shops and many good restaurants in the old town of Rothenburg. Phillip welcomed us and checked us inn who also manages the hotel chic restaurant and helped take all our luggage upstairs. phillip had a very likeable personality and knows hospitality. We booked the Senior Suite and were allocated Suite No 7 on the third floor (made like a duplex suite with one bed up the stairs within the suite. This suite is on the 3rd floor and was beautifully decorated and comfortable and with an excellent layout and Shower / bathroom and all amenities. It has a French balcony which is above the front entrance of the hotel and as having a proper seated balcony was one of our requirements, we were given the option to move to the 1st floor Suite No 3 similar type suite which became available the next day which we found better for us as it has a balcony over looking the beautiful garden and a rear garden view and the bathroom and shower are separate with a bath and and stand in shower as well. The ‘GARDEN’ was the highlight for us as we spent hours in the morning and late evenings enjoying the weather and the serene environment the Owner / Hotel Managemnet have created for guests. Even though it was really 02 nights but the place does have an impactful aura as you feel part of a different time. Another great experience happening in the old town was the draught festival that was going on for the two nights we were there with people dressed up in costumes and performing different types of acts that were uniquely pleasing to see.

Everything was more than satisfactory save for access which was not the hotel’s fault - but clearer signage and advance notice of street barring would be helpful . Navigation is not straightforward when the roads are forbidden to traffic !

Since this is a very historic 3-story building please be aware that there is not an elevator, only stairs.

The location is perfect, and the staff members were all so friendly and helpful. They gave us restaurant recommendations and suggestions of sites to visit. On Mother’s Day I was presented with a beautiful rose to commemorate the day.

I wish I had stayed longer!

So beautiful inside this building and our room was unique and comfortable, and we loved the peaceful garden outside. Marco greeted us kindly and Phillip and genghis saw to everything we needed during the next 2 days. The property is so quiet and the breakfast was delicious with wonderful options.

This is a beautifully restored building with so much charm! We were given a huge 2 level room on the 3 floor with incredible views of the city. It was up 3 flights of stairs so travel lightly (however the gentleman checking us in kindly carried our luggage up for us). The bed was very comfortable and in a bedroom just above the lounging area with nice windows that opened for ventilation. They would also take your car and park it several blocks away for you at $10 a night. A wonderful breakfast was provided on the main floor. It was so fun to stay in the ancient historic building and the price was extremely reasonable. We loved it!

Fantastic location, right in the old city. Unbelievable service. Room was comfortable, bathroom was great with good water pressure and warmth. You have to drive through the pedestrian-filled center area to get there, which felt a little strange to an American, but they valet-parked it once we were there.

The only remark from my side is that the smell from the kitchen was coming to the rooms , maybe a door to separate the kitchen would be advisable

Great hotel , 1000 year old building, in the middle of the historic center and our suite was really amazing ! The restaurant we did not have time to try but breakfast exceptional
