Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe street of the hotel is somewhat a side street. It turned out to be surprisingly noisy in the night over the weekend.
Welcoming reception, very clean room, comfortable bed, fridge and hair drier in the room, welcome bottle of water, great variable breakfast, 15 min walk away from the Hbf railway station. Wifi worked well.

SwitzerlandThe bathroom could use a little updating and thorough cleaning, since the shower had some mold and the bathroom trash still had some trash from the prior guests.
We stayed in the annex, which was one of the historic half-timbered buildings of the old town. The room was very large and provided plenty of space for me, my wife, and our dog. The beds were very comfortable and since the annex is set apart from the hotel and road, it was very quiet (aside some noise from other guests, the creaky wood that comes with age). The hotel itself is very nice and the staff were very friendly, welcoming us at a table set aside from the breakfast room, so that our dog could join us for breakfast in the main building. The breakfast has a good selection and the food was of good quality. The fact that the hotel also includes an inner courtyard for secure parking is a great benefit.

United KingdomOnly quibble was that they advised us to go to the main station and take a train to the airport (as does Google so it may be the receptionist is new). It's actually easier to take the U2 from Plärrer which is just round the corner. Note, the hotel is not in the red light district but be prepared for some interesting sights if you go for a wander in the alleys near the city wall.
The hotel was spotless and looked newly decorated. The location was at the edge of the old town (altstadt), very close to good transport (U bahn and trams).

LatviaAs you can see in the photos, the rooms are not modern. But the bathrooms are new and very clean. Not far away is also the "red light district". But you will never notice that if only you went directly to this street. The Feuerwache is also near the hotel, so be ready on the hot summer days when you open your windows, you will hear the sirens.
The location is great. You are already in the Old Town and still not in the crowdy places. The river Pegnitz is in 7 min. walk. There are several restaurants near the hotel. You will enjoy your stay definitely.

United States of AmericaThe location is indeed with in the old city walls. However, it’s not the most charming option as far as location. For close to the same cost you can get a room along more scenic roads. Also, this hotel was closer to the red light district then we anticipated. There wasn’t AC, but that’s typical of many hotels in the “old city center”. Also, depending on which room you were in, a bit of stair climbing and elevator hopping is necessary. We are active, and prefer stairs. But that might not be for everyone. also, the breakfast is GREAT. But depending on when you get down to eat, getting a table might take a bit of time.
The AM breakfast was healthy, fresh and tasted great. Not a tremendous amount of diversity, but what they lack in selection, they more than made up with in quality of ingredients. Well worth the modest spend. particularly compared to buying breakfast elsewhere. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the building itself very charming. The rooms and facilities were very clean and the reception and hosts professional and very nice.
