I was traveling with my adult grandson and I thought we were getting separate beds Was not the case. Two mattresses on one bed base. Awkward!!

The manager / owner was really miserable, didn’t acknowledge any customers and made it feel like you were an inconvenience to him. A simple morning / hello would have been nice.

The WiFi was so slow as to be useless unless standing in front of Reception. Also we could not get any hot water at night, but there was plenty in the morning.

The location was brilliant in a cul-de-sac street. The property is in front of a big park which is ideal for kids and dogs. There is parking in front of the property. It was really handy and affordable during the day; and free after 6pm until 9am the following day. We haven’t met the staff for long as it was rest day on our arrival but they were friendly when we were checking out.

We arrived on a Monday afternoon at 4pm to find reception was closed until the following morning, I guess a day off for reception staff. They left out our room key, and a few instructions. We felt we had to fend for ourselves. There was no kettle for tea. There was no bar or seating area, so we used our phones to find a coffee shop eight minutes walk away in a remote area in the nearby woods. We’d driven a lot that day and really didn’t want to get back in the car to drive into town. There was no/one else in the alpine coffee place and it was a bit eery. Our room was drab, painted a mottled yellow with dark brown furniture. As it had not much natural light I felt the paintwork should have been brighter and lighter. It was slightly old fashioned with fake flowers. There was a seating area with a table in the room, but we couldn’t find an English speaking channel like Sky on the tv so we watched a documentary on Ludvig II on our iPad to pass the time. We had brought our own supper with us luckily and because we were tired, spent the evening in our room as there was nowhere else to go. The following morning there was a member of staff available in a back room but he didn’t engage with any of the guests and the checkout was minimal and unfriendly.

We arrived mid-March so it was still cold outside. Our room was nice and warm, it was very clean and spacious. We couldn’t make use of the balcony as it was too cold and not the right time of year. It was very quiet, and breakfast was excellent. The price of the room was very good value.

Super cool location for an old school hotel. Located in an isolated valley that is beautiful, quiet, and full of hiking paths - feels like a million miles from the busy town - which is actually a 5 minute walk away. Very charming property. It feels like stepping back in time to the days before chain hotels and everything, looking alike.

Unfortunately , the proprietor had Covid and was unable to open the cafe on the first floor, so we had to look for a restaurant back in town. Near the train station was a wonderful Bier Garten ( though pricey), but the best was a hidden little restaurant in the wood, down the walking path across from the guest house. ( i felt like Hansel and Grettle). It would be nice if the hotel gave a list of recommendations . Breakfast was still available in a lovely room.

We were able to walk from the train station. After walking a ways uphill on a partial cobblestone narrow road you come upon a beautiful area of guest houses, with manicured walking paths. Our room was on a third floor ( there is an elevator) and it was the most beautiful room we had in Germany, with a large sitting area with love seat and chair. We even had an antique spinning wheel.

the outdoor patio did not meet the expectations of the photos in list. Bees were a problem and kept us from opening windows to cool the room off. could have used a fan or two.

The room with our balcony view was exceptional. very nice, comfortable bed, nice space.

Nothing in itself though with more attention to decoration one felt this hotel could really sparkle.

The location is excellent both in itself and for its ease of getting in to Fussen. It is a 10 minute walk to a lovely swimming lake. We must sincerely thank the proprietor of the hotel for taking us to the station at a very awkward time when our taxi failed to turn up. This was extremely kind of him. Very good and generous breakfast!
