Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

TurkeyWe were very satisfied with this accommodation. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful and friendly. We’d like to thank all of them again for their support throughout our stay. There’s a U-Bahn station (Berliner Tor) about 700 meters from the hotel, but we preferred to use the Normannenweg bus stop, which is only 300 meters away. Since we used the bus, transportation was not an issue, although service frequency does decrease on Sundays, so you should be mindful of that. The rooms were very clean, and we didn’t encounter any issues with cleanliness. We were already aware of what amenities were (and weren’t) provided in the room, so there were no surprises. The toilet in the room was separated by frosted glassthough we would’ve preferred a regular wall, it wasn’t a problem. They also left us complimentary water, which we appreciated. Breakfast was excellent. We were genuinely very, very happy with it. Coffee is available at the reception at all times, which is a nice bonus. Overall, this is definitely a hotel I’d stay at again when I return. Many thanks to everyone.

AustriaThere is not a lot of storage space in the room, if you need to use the bathroom during the night and you turn on the light the whole room gets lid up since there is only a glas wall between the bathroom and the bed and the bathroom light is very bright. Would be helpful to have a smaller light to not wake the other person.
Nice and very clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. There is coffee available in the lobby, which I really liked.

FinlandNo fridge / minibar in the room. Not hotels problem but the on going renovations next to the Berliner Tor station made the path to the hotel a bit less accessible.
Easy access by train from airport and several connections to different areas of Hamburg. Clean room with pretty much all basic stuff that is needed fora a short stay. Bed was pretty comfy too

RomaniaCheck-in is pretty late (could not be done before 15:00), constructions at the nearby metro station (Berliner Tor) meaning lots of steps to be climbed with the luggage, not a proper bathroom door, just a glass door that could not be locked
Spatious room, very comfortable and large beds, luggage storage facilities

United KingdomNo kettle/tea/coffee in the room and no fridge- both of these things would be an improvement. There is a coffee machine in the hotel lobby where you can get a coffee to take away for free, but nothing beats your own kettle (and fridge).
Good breakfast, easy walk into the city center (or there is a train station (Berliner Tor) about a 5 min walk away if you prefer). Very easy to get to from Hamburg airport, as you take the S1 and get off at Berliner Tor. Lovely modern room and good value for money for a hotel in Hamburg. There is also a Kaufland supermarket about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel, which is very handy!

NorwayI wasn’t comfortable with the glass wall between the bathroom and sleeping area. Also the glass sliding door gave a sense of lack of privacy.
The staff were friendly and helpful, however when we asked if there were any restaurants within walking distance they said no. Google disagreed so we found a nice place. The breakfast buffet was great.

United KingdomThe glass bathroom means if sharing a room and you need the toilet in the night, turning the light on lights up the rest of the room too. Also an empty mini fridge would be helpful as water isn’t provided (only 1 carton pp on first day)
Clean, really friendly and helpful staff, basic but has everything you need.

United KingdomThere aren't enough services (coffee shops, restauratns) in the local areas, but it's only a couple of stops on the u-bahn to the center of the city which has much to offer.
It was clean and well looked after. The location is great, a 10-12 minute walk from Berliner Tor station which is served frequently by many of the metro services in the city.

United Statesthe area around the hotel is still a construction site and there isn't much in terms of restaurants reachable by foot. if you have luggage i would suggest a cab, because even from berliner tor you need to walk over a lot of roadwork and a busy highway to reach the hotel
friendly staff, breakfast was good, room was comfortable and clean

HungaryThe glass sliding door on the bathroom felt a bit of a weird choice. I think the smart functions on the TV were disabled, rendering them useless if you don't care about German TV. This area of Hamburg is pretty empty.
Clean, functional and big enough room with a comfortable bed and good wifi. Perfect for a couple of days stay. The hotel is close enough to the Berliner Tor station from where everything is accessible.
