Very friendly staff, every wish anticipated in our room. Excellent location and super breakfast. Highly recommended.

The small kitchenette had some pots, pans, dishes and silverware but did not have many kitchen utensils or a toaster. There were no medium-sized bowls, just little ones. There was a small fridge but no freezer.

The staff were friendly and the apartment was spacious. It is located so that you can walk around and shop or eat out easily. The furnishings were nice.

Hotel very close to train station but very quiet. Staff friendly and helpful, room was spacious and benefitted from a fridge, coffee machine and kettle. Essen was vibrant and lots to see and do. Plenty of places to eat. We enjoyed it so much we have booked to go again in 2 weeks.

The staffs accidentally came into my room without knowing I was in the room was awkward.and it happened twice in three days of staying.

Near the end of our stay, the hotel was very full with students for the International University Sports Event. Their WiFi could not cope and we found we could not connect to it a few times.

The hotel was located only a few minutes from the train station and close to bars and restaurants. The room was a good size and carpeted. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. At breakfast there was a very large selection of food, one of the best I have encountered.

Cosmetic mirror in the bathroom is mounted too high. Coffee machine wasn't cleaned up inside (after two). Overall, we're very pleased with the stay, and will definitely pick the property again should we be back to Essen, and we can and will recommend it to everybody.

Excellent location - extremely close to the Essen central train station, literally a minute or two of walking. And also very close to the area of the city where there are numerous options to have some food (for example, great restaurant with German cuisine was just 10 minutes on foot away; a couple of coffee shops/bakeries - within a minute). Controllable air conditioning in the room and, what is extremely important, one which doesn't blow straight on you while you're sleeping. Comfortable beds, pillows, and blankets. Spacious room and very spacious bathroom. In the room you can find not only electrical kettle with cups and selection of teas, but also a Nespresso coffee machine with a few capsules. We did not have breakfast, so can't rate it.

In the morning around 9 o'clock some water noise probably from showers of next rooms can be disturbing if your sleep has become lighter but I am sure not all the rooms have this issue.

The Hotel was very well maintained. A traditional place to stay with comfortable and modernized rooms.

Not much not to like. Essen is not the most beautiful city in Germany, nor is it located in the most beautiful part of Essen. But that's not the hotel's fault.

Very decent, well-priced hotel not far from Essen main train station. The rooms were well-maintained, and the breakfast was both extensive and excellent.

The price was quite higher in comparison to my last stay, but that had probably to do with the specific time of the year. Essen was quite busy at that time.

It is the second time I have visited the Essener Hof. The hotel is conveniently situated near the central station. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Perfect for my short stay in Essen. Until next time.

I like to sleep with an open window, but there was a fair amount of noise in the street uni the early hours. Not the hotel’s fault and once the window was closed the noise was no longer audible. Good to have air conditioning instead.

Welcoming reception staff. I received a room upgrade. The room was very clean, the bathroom was spacious and offered good facilities The proximity to the railway and other public transport was very convenient.

Excellent hotel very close to Essen HBF. Check in was quick and easy and staff were very helpful with directions. The breakfast was fabulous, many things to choose from both hot and cold. Highly recommended
