Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustraliaA bit tired, pillows weren't great. Small studio apartment. No availability to leave luggage after checkout. We enquired but received no response in a 24 hour period. Had to pay an additional 40 euro to an external provider for this.
Good location close to Glories metro, Barcelona City Tour Bus and 2.5kms from Sacrada Familia. Late night supermarket and bars.....just not on Sundays.

The person who checked me in was very friendly and helpful. The room was definitely not luxurious, but neither did it pretend to be. All in all it was a good stay and I would consider staying again.

Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. We could leave our luggage at the reception after the check out. The location is good, 20 minute walk to Sagrada Familia and 20 minute walk to the beach.

GermanyThe neighbourhood was scary and dirty. There are many building sites so it’s not a vibrant area and the next better quarter is 15 min walk away.
The location itself was very central and the communication with the host worked quiet well and when we asked for more utensils the response was immediate. Also the host provided more equipment than expected (washing powder, toilet paper, soap, cleaning utensils,etc)

United StatesIt was impossible to sleep ever, we stayed for 3 nights and every night neighbours were were loud till 1-2 am and we Ben sometimes longer. Absolutely zero soundproof, people just don’t respect other people in the building. Even staff came to clean apartment between 9:30 pm and 11 pm which was very loud. It was the worst stay ever, I almost didn’t sleep in 3 days because how loud and disrespectful everyone was. Even closing the doors quietly is apparently a problem!

SingaporeI texted Hotel customer service 1 day ahead of check in to ask for parking details and was given wrong information. I followed instructions to send passport details etc. for 1pm check in to receive digital link 1-2 days ahead. No link was sent to me. I texted 30 minutes before 1pm check in and still, no link. Arrived with 1 partner and luggage at 1.10pm, reception Najib was nice but wasn't informed of our room details due to "digital link" not sent to Najib or I by the hotel customer service. Left bags with Najib, he was helpful 🙏 as we had timed tickets to Sagrada Familia. Called Najib at 5.50pm to see if room was sorted and another person stated she would send me the link via SMS & we can check in anytime. Apartment was adequate but there were food stains on plates & bins still had bags with trash. After texting customer service to ask why they were rude and unhelpful, I translated their reply in Spanish which threatened to evict us from the hotel. Stressful experience. Lack of accountability from the hotel.

BrazilThe room smelled a lot like mold and the bed was really uncortable, I've slept in better air mattresses, almost impossible to sleep because of noise of the bed. The windows are turned to the inside of the building and we can hear everysingle movement from the people staying in the apartments above, there were groups smoking by the window in the middle of night and I had to wake up several times to ask them to be quiet.
The location is great, very close to the metro station and walking distance to many interesting places.

United KingdomMy apartment was completely different from the apartment in the pictures, much smaller with a none external window that overlooked a staircase going down into the basement, my apartment was next to the main entrance of the building so it was very noisy with people coming in and out. From the pics of the apartment advertised and the price I paid I was expecting a full apartment with balcony, instead I got a small studio apartment with no balcony, very little natural light and basic facilities.
Good location, the apartment was clean and friendly staff.

MoroccoCompletely insecure: I got late with my very young kids, but I found nobody at the reception. You have to contact the customer service to give you a digital code!! Completely surreal. Once I got in, I waited with my kids for half an hour before I got the code to get into the room. Juveniles in the upper floor kept shouting until 5 in the morning. They sang Spanish songs loudly and smoked. They slammed the doors which traumatised my kids who were sleeping. I was about to call the police.
