Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

- Definitely doesn’t look as fancy as on the photos. We chose this hotel last minute and went for it with a good discount on my account however the original full price is non sense. - The soap bottle in the bathroom was nearly empty and the whole system of filling it was weird - we managed to take the bottle out to spill some remaining soap through a hole which didn’t look very pleasing. - Would be great if the hotel invested some money to these stuff and gadgets (also such as the hangers on the walls). Couple of stuff seemed half broken.
- The reception is in the 1st floor and all the rooms were in the 4th floor which made it quiet floor and place for the guests only. It was all secured with keys so no one else could walk by. - Staff was kind and helpful. - The rooms were clean and smelled nice. However we didn’t like the initial smell of chlorine in the room. - AC was great! - Everything had its space and we liked it. Bathroom could’ve been bigger as we could barely close the door to be there or to use the toilet. - The shower space was nice and clean though.

The walls are paper thin. You can hear every movement and conversation from your neighbours.

There was no breakfast but lots of places around in the middle of Madrid. From this location you can walk anywhere. From the airport it is easy to take the metro with the awesome guidance of the Hostel. Great communication.

All was good - Bathroom could have been a bit bigger and more storage for hanging clothes.
I liked the location a lot. Staff at the reception were nice. Shower was working well with good pressure. Balcony was great as well. There was a small fridge filled with complimentary two water bottles and a bottle of cava. What a great surprise.

Key going into the building was hard to get door to open. Corridors going in and out to the hotel was dark and smart lights does not turn on immediately. Hotel signage could be bigger and more visible.
No breakfast. Staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful. Location was very good.

Walls were thin, so I could hear my neighbour guests, but fortunately no one was noisy enough to interrupt my sleep
The location was perfect, near the Gran Via metro Station and many other points of interest. Staff was very attentive, the room was small but spotless. Comfy bed too.

Bathroom too small. Average height person would struggle to sit on the toilet without having to bend their knees awkwardly in order to fit between the toilet seat and the facing wall. Very thin walls. You could hear the fan of the next bathroom, the shower of next door’s bathroom, talking and even snoring of the people next door.
Good location in locals area. Only ten minutes walk to the main Plaza/palace too.

Really nice size rooms and very comfortable beds and pillows. Nice natural light coming through and the rooms are quiet. Amazing location - So close to many great bars and cafes. Staff were excellent

the receptionist didn`t know how to speak basic English but she tried her best to help us anyway
I Liked the location it was very central to Gran Via and the metro stations and even to Adolfo Suarez airport. The room was clean and with the mini bar stuffed with water and wine. Coffee and tea were available too.

The mattress topper was a little uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise from people coming and going late but that’s to be expected from a central city hotel.
Great centrally located hotel which is good value for money. Single room has all the basics and very clean.
