Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IcelandThe view and the balcony were "nothing to write home about", but at least I got fresh air :-)
A very nice hotel, central, with short distances to restaurants, shops etc. The staff was excellent, very friendly and accommodating. Newspapers in the reception area and the breakfast room, paraguas when it rained were a pleasant small things adding to customer satisfaction (at least in my case). Breakfast was very decent and upon request a fried egg was no problem..

United KingdomExcellent location and very friendly and professional staff. Rooms were very spacious with large bathrooms. The rooms at the front of the hotel had balconies overlooking the rooftops of the town. Would strongly recommend.

SpainI wish there would have been a kettle to be able to make a cup of tea or coffee, but I have noticed the many hotels in Spain don't have this option. Now I travel with a small travel kettle which solves the problem nicely. The breakfast was fine, but I would prefer to eat out in a local cafe or restaurant. Other than that, the hotel is great.
Love this hotel. Have stayed there before and will stay there next time I'm in Gijón. Location is fantastic. Can get around very easily on foot and there is parking a few meters from the hotel.

SpainThe breakfast buffet was adequate but personally, there are really great breakfast places around the city. They did have fresh orange juice which is a winner and there were some fresh fruits which we were able to pop in our bag and take with us for the day.
This is a lovely old school hotel. The beds were very comfortable, the room was warm and despite it being the middle of winter, we could sleep with an open window. The bathroom is bright and well equipped with a bath and a shower as well as a private toilet. I mean, who doesn't want a private toilet? The staff are kind and helpful, speak very good English and even gave us a quick Spanish lesson as we were determined to try and speak Spanish, although most people we spoke to did in fact speak English. The area is fun to walk around in, there are lots of restaurants, cafes and interesting shops and the proximity to the beach and the old town is super. We could walk there in about 7 minutes. If you are coming in by car, there is parking a stone's throw away for €20 a day. We love Gijón and will likely visit again. We would definitely stay at this lovely hotel again.

GermanyIt was quiet warm in the room as we could not turn off the heating and the air con was a little too weak to regulate the warmth.
A bit old-style hotel in a very good location. In fact we stayed for 2 nights and liked it a lot as also we booked at a very good price. Spacious room with TV, small fridge, air con, toilet and shower separated, two sinks, small table and armchair. Public Parking house opposite of the hotel (40% cheaper if you install the apk2 app, register your car number plate and drive in, without reservation and paper ticket).

United KingdomI can't think of anything that I didn't like.
Lovely hotel in a central location. Room and bathroom were very spacious, very clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I had to leave before breakfast on both days of my stay but the staff very kindly made me a packed lunch to take away with me in the morning which was much appreciated. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

SpainAs I said the coffee might have been better. Unfortunately the screen share has been blocked on a new Samsung tv (so sharing from an iPad etc is impossible) and changing the program spoken language to the original version has also been blocked which isn’t the best for foreigners. Just for when it’s raining outside..
A classic Spanish hotel that hasn’t lost it’s style. It retains the atmosphere of a bygone era whilst having perfect wifi, excellent air conditioning, digital tv etc. Its kept spotlessly clean. The marble, wood and brass fittings are kept so beautifully Polished, which is quite unusual in this day and age. Friendly, professional and well dressed receptionists add to the quality of the hotel. The breakfast was lovely, with my only negative comment being that the coffee was instant instead of being ground beans which let the breakfast down a little. Underground parking is only a minutes walk away. For sure we will be back.

Puerto RicoA little bit hard mattress.
All is about location and location! In the city center, close to the bus station, near restaurants, shops. Walking distance to San Lorenzo Beach and tourist attractions. The hotel is very clean and peaceful, and the staff are very friendly and supportive. The rooms are comfortable and cleaned every day. Maybe some people found the hotel a little old-fashioned, but we think it is an old-school hotel with a charming ambiance.

United KingdomIt's a shame that they lost their agreement with the local parking as I thought 20 euros was a bit steep considering the same gig in Oviedo the night before was only 11 Euros
Quite a big room and bathroom for the price. There are a few options for food, drink and shopping nearby. Also a small well stocked supermarket nearby.
