Excellent location. Very close to the metro. there are pubs on the street in the evenings. The outside noise does not come into the room much. The insulation was good. A pleasant place to stay. Some mornings, snacks such as free crackers and cake were served for breakfast in the communal kitchen. Not always :) It was very nice to always have free tea, coffee or herbal tea. The first day I entered my room, there was a small problem with the curtain that did not bother me. The attendant said that this problem would be repaired by the staff. When I went out for a very short time the next day, it was fixed. The interest and sense of responsibility of the staff is very good.

If you get the suit in the evening, it's impossible to find any staff. It's important to read the check-in instructions carefully. Additionally, on the checkout day, you need to leave the room by 11 a.m. When I mentioned being 15 minutes late to check out, they barely accepted it. Lastly, they charge 2 euros for leaving the luggage on the checkout day.

The location was excellent, with the metro station (5 minutes away on foot) and Plaza de Sol (15 minutes away on foot) nearby. The room, while small, was still usable. The bathroom was not only spacious but also comfortable.

The hotel didn't respond to messages about refunds. A portion of the deposit would be deducted because my mate smoked in the room, but the exact price was not specified. Whether the deposit is refunded or not, staff should answer the message..

It is a popular night area and noisy. The rooms have double glazing, which helps. For three nights things were calm and the place seemed well run. On our last night, Friday, a noisy group had booked and there was partying below and in the rooms and banging, shouting, button pressing all night.

It is in a very interesting and convenient position. One bus ride from Atocha Station and from the museums, plenty of cafes, shops, interesting walking around. Interesting old building and street.

The room was quite pokey and the noise between apartments travels very, very easily and it is loud. There was limited sink space and we also had some issues with the shower tap needing to be fixed. There was also no fan for ventilation in the bathroom. Frustrating that the kitchen facilities and coffee machine could not be accessed before 10am. I’m normally an early riser and it really defeated the purpose of having an accessible coffee machine (and no access to tea by the time we’d get home). Also no blankets provided - just a sheet. A few things were in need of repair, including the light fixture in the bedroom. No shower caps or bars of soap provided.

Great location in Madrid - lots of cafes, shops and restaurants very close by. Quiet from a street noise perspective. The room was clean.

We booked a room with 1 big bed and got a room with 2 separate small beds, but we were here only 1 night, so we didn`t mind. Read the conditions before booking, they will ask you the depozit-to hold 100€ on your bank account until you exit and they chek the room, if everything is ok they will unhold it

The room was clean, had air condition, bathroom was clean and nice. Location is ok, you have around 10-15 minutes walking to the city center

They do not mention you have to pay a 100€ deposit until you've already made your reservation. I am still waiting for my deposit back and it's been 10 days since my stay at HA San Mateo. Their customer service is quite bad, since they have not replied to my WhatsApp messages and I cannot get through them when I call their number either.
