Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The walls are too thin and not really a soundproof... The isolation could be better. You can hear your neighbours talking inaudibly and doing other things, so if you're a light sleeper be a aware.
Location was great! Staff was very friendly and approachable. Wifi was free and pretty good. Hotel is renovated and very clean. The room has a working desk and is very bright.

Very noisy at night. There were motorcycles racing up and down the street all night and loud guests in the halls. I suggest adding rugs to the hallway floors to dampen the noise.
The room was clean and spacious and located close to many things. The windows were thick and helped keep out some of the noise. The shower pressure was fantastic!

The road outside can get a bit noisy in the morning but was not too bad and not too much traffic generally.
A clean and comfortable room of a good size, very effective shower, comfortable bed, just a few minutes walk from the old town and the bus station, very helpful staff.

No free parking and not easy to find parking spot in the streets nearby. Also we couldn’t keep our kite gear in the room but they had a specific storage for it. And the single beds were comfy but it would have been better to have a double bed for a couple especially that we stayed for almost 10days.
The very nice and welcoming staff, the cleanliness of the property, the location.

Accommodation in the center of Tarifa had a clean room with a not very comfortable bed. However, the room was clean. Parking was charged in the underground garage in the amount of 15 euros. Communication with the accommodation was without problems. There were various shops, restaurants nearby, and you could reach the beach from the accommodation in a few minutes.

WiFi was slow. Parking was available according to details, however was full when we arrived. The "no parking spaces" sign on the garage looked a permanent fixture. We went to Tangier for 4 days and also used the hotel for an overnight on our way back which meant our car had to be left in the street for the duration.
The hotel was in a great location. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The shower was great with really hot water. Beds were comfy. Cafes nearby for breakfast were good. Within walking distance of the port and central area.

In our room mosquitos flew from AC/vent, windows were closed. Not an issue for one night but a little bit annoying.
Nice, clean, affordable room with private bathroom and AC walkable distance from the center and the beach. Easy to find parking spot nearby. Nice and helpful staff.

Garage parking unavailable; we had to leave our car on the street for a week. Beds a bit hard.
Great location for access to the port. Rooms good size. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Hotel clean and well provided. Great power shower.

The location was perfect, close to everything but still quiet and extremely clean. Staff were helpful and pleasant and couldn't do enough for you. Bonus was parking on site, at a cost which was ok. Considering it is a hostel I was impressed and would highly recommend.
