Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaEntry via code. Horrible bathroom.
We had a twin room thank goodness, as the dorm room looked very cramped. The twin room was sparse, but comfortable. It had a small balcony, but it was very dirty and old and not nice to sit in. The kitchen facilities were pretty good. The bathroom was pretty awful! Two shower stalls, which don't even have a curtain. So if someone comes in while you are showering, bad luck. The bathroom door doesn't close properly either. I feel this place is run by an organisation that does not care in the slightest about the property. Entry is by a code, there are no staff at all. A few times people had left the reception door open, so anyone would be able to walk in. Entry to our bedroom was also via a code that can only be received on your phone. That meant you had to have your phone with you at all times, even if just going to the toilet. One time, our door would not open and I had to message the company. They were very quick to get back to me, but I thought, what if that happened in the middle of the night. This place could be amazing, but it is very run down and in need of a lot of care, and some staff!!

United StatesI don't like not having a staff person. Other guests were smoking in the evening and sleeping in the common area. Not sure who to call, what to do. The digital key makes it very simple to access the room, but as a pilgrim I missed the personal presence of a staff person.
The location was perfect--right in the center of Leon. Beds were comfortable. Window/balcony over the sidestreet was great. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen large and well used.

United StatesThere were no directions or staff present to open the door to explain the situation. Were it not for another pilgrim who happened to see me and was staying there, I would’ve had no idea what to do, how to get the key and how to get into my room. After hiking all day the last thing you want to have to do is play games, trying to find out how to open the Albergue door and get into your room. Very unsatisfactory.
Great location to the plaza and cathedral.

AustraliaBit noisy at night as you are based in the nightlife, area but closing the shutters by blocked out the street noise. Not a fan of the virtual keys - much prefer a person to greet you with that personal touch.
Comfy twin room light and airy. Great shared kitchen facilities, right in the middle of all the action and sights

SpainA little street noise, obviously. Would have preferred a door code sent with booking confirmation as opposed to the virtual key access system (which worked well). NOTE - KEEP YOUR SMARTFONE CHARGED OR YOU CAN'T GET BACK IN!

I have stayed before. It’s an interesting place. I HATED the fact that there is zero interaction with staff. Everything is done through codes and phone access. Also it’s super noisy from the street esp on Fridays and Saturdays. Very central but that comes with a cost.

United KingdomThis time was a little different, new digital entry.. it's cool, but no directions on how to use in English ( i know it's in spain but, i wasnt the only guest that didn't quite understand). Just a simple 'Click the link for digital keys' would have made the whole thing less confusing..
Second time I've stayed here... it's a lovely retro vibe

AustraliaThe check in system is a nightmare. If it wasn’t for a previous guest (and the wonderful, lovely cleaner!) I would still be standing outside. I also helped a number of other guest check in. It’s so complicated, and when my phone was almost flat I had to race back to the albergue so I wouldn’t be locked out. It’s crazy! If it wasn’t for this I’d give a 10 out of 10.
This is a fantastic Albergue, in a prime spot, clean, comfy and well set up.

United KingdomThe AI check in system was really problematic to use and there was no person to speak to at the property. The door security systems kept malfunctioning and didn’t always work using the virtual keys. This meant some people left doors open all the way to the street meaning anyone could walk in. Or you risked finding doors were closed, your virtual key didn’t work and you couldn’t get back in. My room (Room 2) had a broken door handle - the handle came off in your hands and was just on the side meaning my room had to be open all the time. I messaged through booking.com to say there was a problem and it needed to be resolved but heard nothing. I was not happy. Luckily nothing was stolen but I felt very vulnerable in this room and worried about going out and leaving my things. There were lockers but no keys or a way of securing them to protect your belongings.
Love styling. Very cosy and beautiful layout with great aesthetics. Excellent central location. Kept exceptionally clean but a dedicated team of staff
