Location. A very good stopover on my journey to Portugal. The main restaurant does not open until 8PM, but the food and service were excellent. Most people used the cheaper option of bar food, as that was available much earlier.

On checking in, the lady on reception was surly and unhelpful, although she seemed to cheer up a little when we saw her later. The TV in the room did not work. The shower head had a problem where water was coming out of all sorts of places apart from the correct holes. Being right next to the A62 autovia, the room was quite noisy in the morning but quite acceptable at night.

The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Dinner was fairly basic, but it was very good value and served in huge quantities. Breakfast was only €3 and consisted of coffee and a huge croissant, with toast as an alternative. Generally the staff were friendly and helpful.

All staff helpful and polite . Some had little English but got by, no problem . Food Excellent (try the sizzling steak). Bar food also good and a large selection.

The refurbishment has been done well but the water pressure for the shower (at least in our room) was poor; it needed a boost pump. Worse was the restaurant. The menu was restricted in the meat (carnes) area and two more local items were not available. The steaks seemed to be a reasonable alternative but both of ours arrived extremely rare (and I like a bleu steak). Returning one to the barbecue made no difference and the quality of the meat, with lots of sinew, fat and other inedible parts, compounded by knives that were blunt, made the main course a real let-down. Our lack of Spanish made discussion impossible unfortunately but we have never had this issue before. We'll use La Colina again but exercise better selection from the menu!

Being long-term users of this hotel we knew exactly what the facilities were - stone's throw from autovia, easy parking, excellent room, check-in and check-out easy; excellent value for money. Staff were polite, helpful and cannot be faulted (except the chef - see below)

I have stayed here before. It is a convenient location on the way to/from Santander to Andalusia being alongside the highway It has ample parking and a restaurant which serves competitively priced meals.

Bar was open ,even though the restaurant was not serving any more , by the time I arrived . the young lady on reception was more than helpful and spoke english .

Although our bathroom had a large walk-shower, there was no hand held attachment so difficult to have a shower without getting your hair wet. A man must have designed it :)

It’s location just off the main road made it an excellent stopover en route to Santander but it wasn’t noisy as there were two lots of double glazing on the windows.

The staff always seemed to be too busy to tend to customers. At check-in it took a few minutes to be noticed and sent to the correct place. For check-out at 11:00 am, we had to wait about 20 minutes until somebody from the bar came and accepted the key. The hotel staff was nowhere to be found.

Nice location by the highway and the restaurant is quite convenient, but it only opens at 20:30. Would not stay here again, as I think there are better options nearby and at the same price. The room was ok, but the AC was a bit smelly.
