Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

EstoniaA lot of noise. You could hear everything through the walls. Pluss, I would not feel safe if I was a single female because of the electronic locking system. I would prefer to have a physical lock.
Sheets were clean. The location was good.

SpainI didn't like how dirty the fan we had to use was, we had to clean it best we could before turning it on. It was full of dust bunnies. And there was even an old bottle under the bed. The pillows left much to be desire, they were hard and too high for my neck.
The size of the bedroom and bathroom were alright, better than expected in Madrid. There wasn't much noise around the property so we could sleep without interruptions. I loved that I could top up my water bottles with cold water in the entry hall whenever I went out and came back in from the very hot outside. Summer in Madrid is brutal.

MaltaCheck-in time is not negotiable: only from 3pm and virtual access keys are provided the very last minute, at 3pm on check-in day, which can be a bit inconvenient. The apartment is tiny and claustrophobic. No AC, just a fan. We were there mid-July. If you're there for a one night stop it's be fine. However, if planning to stay longer, think twice: no fridge, not much space.
The small apartment is very well-located in a pleasant area close to a park, supermarket and metro station. It was very clean, though minimalist. Cold and hot water dispenser on the ground floor. Good hairdryer in the bathroom.

SpainI had a problem logging onto wifi so if we can’t do that we can’t gain access, maybe find an alternative messaging system as a back up? Water available downstairs but no cups provided.

United KingdomAs other people mentioned the walls are very very thin, if you are unlucky to have others guests partying late as night as we did its impossible to sleep.
Location is great during daytime, plenty food places around and buses/metro station close by. It does get a bit dodgy in the area during night, groups of teenagers smoking in the corner and speaking loudly. Place is really new and clean all we could ask for.

GermanyThe contact with the staff was difficult and we didn’t know until the last moment if we would get the access code. We also asked them via booking if we could use the lockers in the corridor to store our luggage after check out, and never got a reply… As for the room, it was weirdly cut, with a long corridor to a tiny window, which didn’t air the room properly. The whole room smelled like a moldy basement, and it wasn’t possible to ventilate it. We had to keep the ventilator on at all times to make the thick air bearable. We‘re happy that we didn’t stay there long.
There location is well connected with the city center via metro. The room and bathroom were renovated, had modern equipment and were clean. There was a ventilator and working wifi.

JerseyIt was dirty, dusty and the bathroom ventilation didn’t work. In addition, the automatic door lock wouldn’t lock, so we Had to contact customer service every time we left the property. Customer service was good with a quick response time but still an inconvenience, we would rather avoid.
The location is fantastic, really close to a metro and worst case scenario is a 30 min walk to center of Madrid. Also a supermarket 1 minute away.

SpainMost complex online check-in procedure I ever seen, without which they are not letting you even inside the lobby. I met a family with kids in front of the hostal entrance who unpacked their things on the ground in search of their ID, because they needed to take a photo of it to get in. Very convenient! No wardrobe or any other storage place in the room. Inside walls are made of the worst kind of plasterboard.
It has nice design, lighting, nice sheets and towels, good mattress for a cheap guesthouse. You can close shower completely with the glass door, which is rare even for more expensive hotels Water temperature and flow are even excessive. I also could not complain about the noise despite the thin walls, probably due to my quiet neighbors and lack of TVs in the rooms)
