Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Can't think of something
You have everything you need. The bed is comfy and the location suits me for my work but also very easy to go for a run in the Retiro and shopping in the main streets. It feels well located but also quiet.

There was no cattle, tea or coffee in the room, neither basic facial cleaning or ear buds, hotel sleepers that we usually have in a 3* hotels.
Property is ok and the breakfast was nice good selection of food and drinks

there's an issue with google maps - it is named twice at completely different locations.

at check in I requested late check out which was granted without conditions having been indicated. Reconfirmed late check out day before and was told then that there was an additional amount to be paid. After I explained what happened, this request for an additional amount was dropped. The mess should have been avoided at check in. It would be great if rooms had coffee/tea machine

I had asked for a flexible check-out time but they were unable to accommodate this without a fee of 16 euro per extra hour which I thought was too much.
the rooms were very clean and comfortable! The location was perfect for what we were looking for. It is a little outside the hustle and bustle of the main centre but also had many amenities within walking distance!

Room was close to the lift, so a bit of noise from it. The restaurant is excellent but open to the public at lunchtime and in the evening, so very busy. The coffee machine made ten types of coffee but not ordinary decaf americano.
The hotel is in a very nice part of Madrid. It is not on a main road so is relatively quiet. Three blocks away from the nearest Metro station. Good places to eat fairly close by.

Some of the staff at reception was not very friendly. Unwilling to match the better prices of Booking.com when asked to extend the stay.
The property is in an excellent location. It is clean, and the rooms are modern.

Not much of a bar area for residents as it is used as a busy restaurant

Nothing major to criticise
Ideal forr my business trip. The room had a large work area. I was given an intern room which was quiet but which also had natural light. The room was clean and modern with everything I expect such as power outlets near the bed, reading lamps, good quality toiletries . Breakfast buffet excellent quality. Near to good restaurants and accessible by Metro and bus. Staff very helpful and considerate

The receptionist when I first arrive was a bit hesitant, but she helped me at the end to complete the checkin.
The hotel was very clean, the bed was great. Breakfast is good, but could been improved. Location is on a side road, but all connected, easy to walk around.

The room was too hot. There is no simple explanation of how the acworks- if it does. There needs to be. Also there was a bottle of water but with a cap that required a bottle opener - no message to say how to open and where to find the opener. Attention to detail. Think like a customer. The heat in the room needs to be addressed.

We chose a location in Salamanca with easy access to popular streets for shopping and restaurants. The location was ideal for us. We were able to walk and travel around Madrid on foot. The room was fine and the staff @NH Balboa were friendly and helpful and also professional. We chose to breakfast in different locations in Madrid but would recommend Saona restaurant in the hotel which we had lunch.

Guest were not prioritized in the hotel restaurant. We were unable to get a table. Staff communicated we had to have a reservation that we were unable to obtain.
The property very nice installations seems recently remodeled. The location is wonderful walking distance to key areas of the barrio of salamanca including the shopping area.
