Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Clean, comfortable, helpful staff, location
Very nice historical building, helpful staff, excellent location for the Guggenheim Museum, theatre, Old town etc. You can take a bus from airport to get to the hotel. It takes 20 min or so and costs €3. The bus will drop you just across the street. You should visit some bars in the old town where they serve amazing tapas and wine, and you will eat with locals. There are 13 Michelin restaurants and their prices seem quite good as well. Bilbao is an amazing city and I will definitely come back.

The location was perfect and an easy walk to the Guggenheim and the historic quarter. The staff were the absolute best thing about this hotel though! Very clean and great facilities. Breakfast was delicious!

The air conditioning system could be more modern; more milk and teabags would be welcome.
Perfect location for short stay. Room was spacious, comfortable and well-equipped. Bar was cosy and staff friendly.

Staff, comfort, cleanliness- little touches like a few complimentary drinks in minibar. Very quiet end of corridor room, balcony. A short walk to Guggenheim and a lovely stroll (10mins) to Old Town. The airport shuttle bus stop is 10metres from Hotel entrance.

Lack of facilities description in room.(or offered by front desk). No user control of a/c although we had opening windows (at the expense of street noise)
Location, good sound insulation, very nice beds, well-appointed bathroom. Steps from metro and airport bus. Easy walk to Guggenheim. We absolutely loved Bilbao.

Absolutely nothing.
Very clean and very well located hotel. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. A hotel that has its own history in particular during the Spanish Civil War era. Loved the free beverages in the freezer. Thank you for everything.

The cost of the breakfast. for two people its too much, with the prices that are available elsewhere, and the food is so good in Bilboa.
Location is perfect, the room that we had was excellent, really good. We didn't have the breakfast in the hotel, as the food scene in Bilboa is so good that we eat else where. The cost of the breakfast is too high.

There was nothing about this hotel that I didn't like.

Our stay was perfect in this hotel
The location is in the city centre,2 minutes from the bus station. The staff in the reception is very polite and helpful .The room is large enough ,the bathroom is big and very clean,they have all needed amenities. The hotel is a little old but it is full of charm. Everywhere there is an attitude of old-fashioned high society. We will definitely come back!

A lot of noise from other rooms including hearing next door flush the toilet, which we have never had from any other 5 star hotel
