Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SerbiaOne of the bathroom didn't have a door for a shower cabin and the whole bathroom was full of water. After showering, the door of the bathroom couldn't close (I guess that's beacuse they are wooden and wet and they were stuck anytime when you try to close it). After a day the door has dried and could close normally. Also, the shower has not functioning good (water was leaking). Some shell in that bathroom would've be nice. The other bathroom was better. Few days before our visit, we got the message from the owner that we have to fill some platform and leave bank account data, so they can charge deposit in case of damage. Nowhere was that information, and we we're suprised. They don't block your money but still, it was a little uncomfortable for us to leave those data in some random platform. The amount is 50€ per person. Also, the owner barely tolerated our late check in. I know it was late (00:15) but it's about the plane and airport, not us. :/
The apartment has a great location, near Prado museum. We didn't even had to use public transport to go to the most important locations. It has two bedrooms and each has a bathroom which is good for 5 people, and there's also a living room with big sofa for sleeping. The kitchen is well equiped. We had everything we needed, and we we're mostly satisfied. :)

AustraliaNothing major but sofa bed was made up so we had to dismantle it to be able to use the sofa for seating. Also towels were in machine as we were told but were still wet so had to put them through dryer before we could shower.
Location was excellent. Apartment was ideal for 2 couples. Check in was easy and parking a huge bonus.

United StatesWe didn’t need the sofa bed and it was already pulled out and made. We were unable to close it since there were no seat cushions available.
Our property manager was very helpful and provided excellent directions and instructions in getting to the apartment and also providing us with parking lot information. The location was fantastic. Walking distance to all major “tourist” sites, along with the Atocha train station. Bodegas and grocery stores were also very close by, and nice restaurants were also within walking distance. The apartment itself was very nice. The two bedrooms and two bathrooms were ideal. It was also handy to have the washing machine available to do laundry! The kitchen had enough supplies for preparing simple meals. Make sure you review all of the listed amenities; there are MANY!! :) The apartment was in a quiet building, but be prepared for normal “apartment” noises from neighbors if you are not used to living in such a setting. The apartment door lock was something that made you feel very secure, though the neighborhood was very safe. A lovely place in a wonderful city!

SpainIn the booking, listed amenities included toiletries. In the most basic hotels, shampoo, shower gel, and conditioner are included as part of the toiletries; however, there was only shower gel available. It is important to be clear about what is being offered so that a guest is not counting on something being there that is not. The mattress in one of the rooms was too soft with a depression in the center. It made sleep challenging as we both kept rolling into the center of the bed. Lastly, there was not enough hot water for the three of us to shower one after the other in the morning.
The location was perfect for our needs. The apartment was as described with two bedrooms, two baths, and a kitchen. Staff communicated with us effectively to assist us in finding the apartment and getting into the apartment for the very first time. They were responsive to questions.

CanadaWe arrived on a fiesta night, so the Old City was extremely crowded and loud. Although the apartment is at the back of the building, the sound definitely travelled that night. As long as it's not a fiesta night, the apartment is very quiet. There is a washing machine, which is great, but it's outside the apartment and there is no dryer, so it's a bit tricky bringing the wet clothes into the apartment and finding a way to dry them. But we were glad for the washer!
Fantastic location in the Old City. Minutes from countless shops, bars and cafes. Five minutes from San Telmo Museum, the Boulevard, and the beach. Everything is easily walkable and the atmosphere in the neighborhood is wonderful. Felt very safe. Large well-equipped apartment with 2 bedrooms, a loft and 2.5 bathrooms. The host met us when we arrived, which was welcoming.

RomaniaThe biggest problem was the beds: very small, extremely soft mattresses. Even the extendable sofa is not a better opportunity for sleeping. For a 90 kg man, it was the worst sleep experience. Because all the windows are opaque, you have the feeling that it is permanently dark outside and you have to stay with the light on in the house. The night is the opposite, because the curtains are very transparent, a lot of light enters the house from outside. After leaving, the host scolded us for leaving too much trash. This in the conditions where I threw away the non-recyclable garbage every day, and all that was left in the house was the recyclable garbage that accumulated during the 8 days we stayed in Madrid (4 people), sorted plastic by plastic, bottle by bottle... I mention that the price the accommodation included a cleaning fee!!!
The location is good, quiet, metro station is very near. The kitchen is well equipped, each bedroom has its own bathroom. clean, without the smell of mold or tobacco

United KingdomStrange door locking system that locks itself after you enter and can be remotely accessed. No instructions about the cooker, hob or washing machine. We had trouble getting the hob to work because you have to press AND HOLD the unlock. Had to search google for help. Some noise from neighbours at night.
Large living room and reasonably sized bedrooms. Clean and nicely furnished. Really good shower.

AustriaThe location of the appartment is perfect, really close to the center but in a quite street. The checking is easy via WhatsApp, but therefore you need internet connection. The appartment was as in the description, you have everything you need. The beds are on the harder side but OK. They are also not that big so more for a couple and not two friends. The only negativ thing is the sleeping couch, it has a very thin mattress and i wouldn't recommend it for an adult.

Saudi ArabiaBe careful before you book this place for many reasons: First if you have many luggage be informed that the place doesn't have elevator The apartment is located in a very old building and it is not showing in the photos. Also it is up the hill so you need to have light stuff to be able to reach by walk No blackout for the windows so you will suffer from the daylight if you like to sleep in dark rooms The wifi was not working and the host offered us a sim card but we didn't take it since we don't have room in our phones to put it in We wanted to cancel the reservation due to many reasons but the host was not cooperative with us even for the partial refund In conclusion it was one of the worst places I stayed in and I left the second night although that I paid for two nights!
Nothing to be honest

BrazilOur stay at this apartment in Madrid was extremely disappointing and even uninhabitable. Upon arrival, we found the place dirty, with a garbage bag from previous guests and towels still in the washing machine, even after the check-in time. In addition, the listing did not mention the absence of an elevator, which was a major inconvenience for us, a group of four people with a baby. Climbing stairs with suitcases and a stroller was extremely tiring and unnecessary. The building itself also left much to be desired. It seemed poorly maintained, with poor lighting and cleaning, transmitting a feeling of insecurity and discomfort. The cost of the stay does not match the terrible conditions of the place. When trying to talk to the host about the problems we found, we were met with indifference and disinterest. She simply directed us to Booking.com, without showing any interest in resolving our complaints. Due to the unacceptable conditions of the place, we were forced to find another place to stay. This situation generated additional inconveniences and unexpected costs.

SpainThe beds!! On both beds and the sofa bed, we put pillows down the center to stop rolling into them. I informed the staff for future renters and was told they were fine and we should flip the mattress. We did (a hassle after a long day) and it helped one night but was hollowed again by the next.
Location was great! The street and building were quiet. The kitchen was lovely and modern.

IrelandNot the apartment's fault but the only near metro line was suddenly closed during our stay - until October - making visiting other parts of Madrid difficult but manageable.
A wonderful apartment within walking distance of Madrid's main art galleries and a stone's throw ffrom the Botanical Gardens Very comfortable for three adults and well equipped for self-catering. Terrific wifi and a smart TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime - you need your own accounts. Lots of eateries, cafes and bars close by. Also close to a good supermarket and a specialist wine store.

AustraliaSecurity lock on door can be tricky but we were helped through this. Dark curtains would be good as light from neighbours did come through, however, this did not affect the apartment overall as was great.
Plenty of space, comfy beds, 5 min walk to local metro station. Easy walk around town. Great little tapas bar downstairs and not noisy at night. Check in with rental guy was easy once we knew how to work lock. Safe and secure location, would definitely recommend.
