Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GibraltarWe could hear music in our room as from 8pm from surrounding events. Also we could hear all that was happening outside the room door very clearly, ie the cleaners at 7am, other guests talking.
Very central location, value for money hotel. Great staff, good restaurant.

United KingdomI slept well, but my husband found the mattress a little too firm. Personal choice and I was happy with the bed so not really a complaint.
The location was perfect. Very central for main sightseeing areas yet quiet thanks to insulation measures. Breakfast was excellent in variety and quality. Little touches like a kettle in the room and a welcome gift of small chocolates, sweets and water were much appreciated. All staff were friendly and very helpful.

United States of AmericaThere were a couple of things that stood out. I am a nonsmoker and I don't enjoy the smell of smoke. On my floor I smelled smoke frequently. It wasn't pleasant. My room had a leak in the bathroom from the room above. Not the hotels fault but I was surprised to see drops fall through the lights. There wasn't a real place to store clothes and no iron with an ironing board in the room. There were hangers but it was only enough for one person's clothes rather than 2. My biggest peeve was around some of the amenities. I was given 1 instant coffee a day and had to buy coffee throughout the day. This is different from other hotels as they tend to give you a bit more free beverages (water, tea, and coffee). My room didn't have a view. My window faced a wall.
There were several pluses. The location was great. It was relatively close to the main attractions in Madrid. The trains and buses are nearby. Taxis are literally at the front door of the hotel. The staff was extremely kind and helpful especially the cleaning people. They did a spectacular job keeping everything tidy for us. The breakfast buffet offered a good variety of food. It is definitely worth the investment. I didn't need to branch out and look elsewhere for breakfast. There was a refrigerator with the option to purchase beverages inside. I do appreciate having a mini fridge so I can put my purchased food/beverages. The room had great lighting. It was especially helpful as I was reading early morning to prepare my day. The bathroom was the best room. It offered a bathtub and a shower. There are huge mirrors and a makeup mirror which I enjoyed For the price, it is a great place to stay overall.

SpainNo welcome water in the room.
I have stayed in this hotel at least 5 times. Every time I come back to Madrid, I will book this hotel habitually. It is located in the city center and very close to everywhere I want to go. I have stayed in many hotels in Madrid, and this one is generally very cost-effective. The rooms are newly decorated, reasonably configured, and the size is reasonable. For similar prices, the configuration here is the most comfortable.

United States of AmericaThe Wi-Fi on the 8th floor was not consistent. The sliding glass door to the toilet in the bathroom is not private. Not even couples married for 40 years want to hear each other's bathroom activities. Also, there should be a separate light in the toilet room for when you get up in the middle of the night, rather than one bright bathroom area light.
Great location, wonderful top floor suite with terrace, and an extensive breakfast array.

CanadaNot sure I would rate this a 4-star. It's a good 3- star but size of my room and some tiredness of decor/furnishings take away from overall impression somewhat. Things like cheap pillows and thin towels don't help. In my books, a 4-star needs to be very good. This was just good overall, thanks to staff and location. And they try in other ways ... personal welcome notes and a couple of chocolates.
Staff were all great - friendly and professional, including in the restaurant. Food there was also good. Loved the huevos rotos. Location was also very good and my interior/rear room was quiet except for some loud conversations among a tourist family in the hallway. When did people start to think that hotel hallways were their living rooms?

United States of AmericaI always ask for quiet room not close to the street, they gave me this very bad room with a lot of smell from the AC or something. So they moved me to another one on the second floor, it was very bad because there is a new discotheque in the back, so all the night there was music, etc so I had to call the FD at 1am to let them now. They moved me to a better room, at least it was not noisy.
I have stayed at this hotel many times, location is excellent same as the service. Rooms are very modern & comfortable.

SpainNothing really, we could not fault the hotel, the location or the staff. We will certainly come back again and stay on our next trip to Madrid.
I stayed for one night only but enjoyed every minute. The hotel was superb, very central location minutes from the nearest metro and a 5 minute walk from Sol and Gran Vía. The room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The standout feature of this hotel however was the breakfast - a huge selection from a typical English/Irish breakfast through to continental style. The quality of the food was very good, some lovely freshly baked bread and a large range to suit all tastes. A nice touch was having lemon and cucumber flavoured water available on arrival in the reception area. Everyone was very courteous and professional, nothing seemed too much trouble and his attention to detail was spot on. In fact all the staff were really pleasant and professional, they couldn't do enough for you. Top class service.

United States of AmericaThe only downside was the trashcan in the bathroom was broken, and the iron that I borrowed from the front desk broke right after I used it for about 15 minutes and the housekeeper took it back the next day without my consent.
This hotel is clean and its balcony was huge with a view. The breakfast buffet was awesome.
