Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

New ZealandThe dining areas need updating with the removal of bench seats and tables to individual tables and chairs. The spa area needs an update. Floors could do with a good clean and a nice bowl of water with flowers under the table to look at during your massage would be nice. One day, there were 140 day trippers from a cruise ship, which, unlike the other days of 30-50 people, did impact the vibe. There were just too many people on a small island. I guess this is needed to help fund the extensive renovations. Food could be better, and the option for half board (breakfast and dinner) and the ability to order lunch of a menu would be ideal. Staff to do the rounds of the beachfront loungers and take cocktail orders 🤣.
An island with a very chill, casual vibe. You can do as much or as little as you want. Staff are incredibly friendly, smiling, and knew my name by the end of the first day. A great selection of yummy cocktails with happy hour twice a day! I stayed 4 nights in beachfront bure 12A. It was brand new, clean, comfy bed, quiet, private with the ocean and sandy beach at my doorstep. Listening to the ocean waves at night was magic, and I slept with my window louvers partly open as the mosequito netting kept them out. Note: Some beachfront bures have rocks out the front, not sand. Most days, there were between 30-50 day trippers. This had zero impact on my stay. Management has clearly taken on board feedback from previous guests, as staying guests were prioritized with lunch sitting times before daytrippers and were encouraged to go on the earlier fish feeding and snorkeling boat. Good quality snorkeling gear was available. I got the full meal package, which was a buffet breakfast, including made to order omelet. Lunch was buffet, and dinner was a mix of buffet, or some nights you could order off the a la carte menu, which were the nicest dinners I had when on the island. The buffet food was OK but definitely room for improvement. The pool was still under renovation, and I would be surprised if this is finished and ready for opening on the 14th August as advertised. Wifi was good, albeit a little slow some nights. The water is incredibly crystal clear, great snorkeling, and not affected by the tide times like other islands. The white sandy beaches are stunning and lined with good quality lounges and umbrellas. It pays to reserve your seat before the day trippers arrive. I had a daily massage, which was professional and total bliss and reasonably priced compared to other islands I visited. Mosquitoes love me, and to my surprise, I never got bitten. I sprayed insect repellent each evening and saw the island being sprayed while I was there.

New ZealandA bit expensive for the ferry transfers and the snorkel trip but again wouldn’t stop me from returning. Some construction going on, no issue with this but good to know if planning a trip.
Beautiful rooms, beautiful views. The staff were so friendly and really made the extra effort to make you welcome and comfortable. The food is nowhere near as bad as other reviews make it seem, it’s nothing exceedingly fancy but it’s good food!! Great snorkelling offshore and the day trips offered were heaps of fun. Good cocktails and drinks, rooms are comfortable. Had an incredible, relaxing holiday and would absolutely return.

New ZealandIt’s an island that’s buzzing but you can also relax so the only thing would be to manage your expectations as you may not be able to get a room with beach access and enjoy what it has to offer. Cool to see areas being refurbished too.
Staff are amazing, great spot! Lots of activities and very happy with our Bure by the beach. We loved the food, so much selection and my partner who is lactose intolerant had so many choices! Water is unbelievably beautiful. 3 nights was perfect!

BrazilFood could be better. For instance, freshly brewed coffee at breakfast, rice at lunch and dinner (no rice at all, only fries and pasta), a la carte dinner was a bit disorganised (kids dishes took too long, ie. served at 7PM). No pool (under construction).
Daily activities. Opportunity to meet other families. Great for families with kids.

AustraliaThe food was lovely but it got quite repetitive, more hooks in the rooms would be appreciated for hanging up towels.
The staff were absolutely beautiful, they made our stay feel truly special, Ekka and Fresh especially made the island feel like home.

AustraliaWe found it to be quite expensive, considering what we got. We understand that food is shipped in, but it's a set price per adult and child so even though you might be able to choose your own dinner, it still cost us $250+ per night for a couple of starters and small main meal, which we felt was quite expensive. Perhaps including childrens icecream in the deal or options to choose main/dessert instead of just appetiser / Main for $75. We wished we'd brought more snacks as options were limited & extremely expensive. If you weren't traveling with kids, you'd be fine.
We loved the peaceful vibe, it was so incredible to be "off the beaten track" and just relax. the snorkeling was amazing, the beach is beautiful and the staff were attentive. WE took 3 kids & they all loved it, a beautiful beach holiday with UNREAL SCENES!!

United StatesThe food was not good and the food service was very spotty. Buffet breakfast was always depleted of eggs and we had to ask and wait for them. We were ignored at dinner despite only a few customers. We were notified the day before we arrived that the pool was out of commission, despite all the property photos showing a working pool. Cost to and from was exorbitant.
Everything ran as planned - extra things added if day trippers number was high. We had a newly refurbished water front Bure with lots of privacy and snorkeling right there if it was calm. We learned out side of the island was windy and stormy while the other side was mostly calm. We like having both.

IrelandActivities could have been better, felt a bit like the person doing the snorkelling was just dropping us in random parts of the ocean. Room was fantastic as was the view of sunset, shower could have been in better condition. Food wasn’t michelin star.
The most fun part of our trip! Staff were amazing. Big shoutout to the gang who put on a dance and limbo competition in the evening. Plenty of kayaks, paddle-boards, loungers etc to use in the daytime as well as the amazing beaches.

AustraliaWe had read reviews and knew the Bure would be older but hoping for rustic, for a good price we were prepared for this. However, access was a timber walk way that was not secure and showing its age. Raised nails in some of the timbers definitely needed hammering in. No light over sticking entrance door. Large number of tiles missing in shower, which could mean mould. Water mixer had obvious salt air damage but functioning. Holes in waterproof sheeting in shower. Stained shower holder. No outdoor furniture. When this was brought to staff attention the walkway was looked at. A banana lounge supplied. But there was nowhere else for us to go. In saying all of the above, there are new owners and this might all be rectified in time however, this was our experience. We still had the best time and looked past the obvious faults, when were we ever going to have the ocean at our door and a truly magical view. So be prepared if you go to this Bure 14, but don't let it stop you, we didn't.
Location of Bure 14 was 10/10. On other side of island, maybe 5 minute walk but it was quiet. The highlight was the view out over the water, if the lull of the constant ocean is for yiu, this us your cup of tea. It is also a prime spot for magic sunset viewing and a hammock just to the left of us to contemplate the view, read a book or just be. The staff were so friendly and helpful and had great memories for our names which makes such a difference. The water activities, snorkelling, both off the beach and from their boats, SUP paddleboarding and kayaking were all-inclusive. Stunning sunrise and sunsets free of charge! The food was tasty and ample for our 3 night stay. Tea, coffee and water always available. Barista coffee available at Bar.

New ZealandDrinks were a little bit pricey, especially the cocktails. The breakfast buffet wasn't great compared to the other meals- lack of fruit! The paddleboards need a bit of love- they don't float very well.
Beautiful island with lovely staff. They tried really hard to make our stay enjoyable, learning our names and always greeting us with a smile! We stayed in an oceanfront bure, which was clean and spacious- loved having a hammock out the front. The lunch and evening food were tasty, and lots of it! The bar had a good selection of wine, beer and cocktails.

The location: a beautiful small island and hour boat ride from Port Denarau. The wonderful friendly staff always ready to help. The excellent beach and surrounding ocean. Great comfortable cabins (bures) with decks overlooking the ocean. Great bar, lunch/dinner and activities. Great wifi. Reasonable pricing. Water activities available on request. A great small size resort, without the overcrowding and bustle of huge resorts.

New ZealandVegetarian options were very less for lunch and dinner. Shower and taps pressure was very low. We also missed getting into the pool as it was being renovated. Kids were looking forward to that One thing which we were not expecting is residents of the resort were not given a free ride to the island. We went though South Sea Cruises on our way there because the island’s cuise did not have availability at the time and it costed $150pp for an adult and $95 for a child one way. We then returned through island’s ferry and it costed $120pp for an adult and half price for a child. Reason i was disappointed is because there was no mention of ferry ride being additional to the accomodation on their website. It adds up a lot when there is 4 adults and 2 children. I would have been better prepared had i known it beforehand, i felt compelled and had to suck it up because accomodation was already paid for.
Breakfast buffet was really amazing. The staff were very helpful. We loved our time there even though it was very hot. Snorkelling experience was also very good. We stayed at the sunset wing and the sunset views were amazing and the kids loved seeing turtles up close

AustraliaThe pool was out of action due to renovation. Could’ve had more variety for breakfasts and fresh fruit daily.
The place has the most beautiful crystal blue waters you’ll ever swim in. The gardens are beautiful. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable have fans and air conditioned. The WiFi is starlink so fast through the day, best to download movies for the evening as it slows down late afternoons. Water pressure in shower quite slow, but in all was fantastic. Bring snacks and your own wine as food and drinks same price as Australian.
