Most rooms, mine including, need new doors. There was a substantial gap between the door and the frame at the bottom of the door, enough to pass two or three credit cards. This means there is no sound insulation, not to mention other things that could pass through that gap. I thought of raising the issue with the front desk, but for a two night stay, and having noticed the issue after I was installed in the room, I chose not to. The room across mine was a service room, and early in the morning I woke up with noises as the staff started their work day. Finally, there was a strong smell of laundry exhaust in my room in the morning, making it quite unpleasant.

Central area, close to the train station, grocery stores, restaurants, opera, and theatre. Coffee and tea available 24/7 for guests. Reasonable price.

Some of the bathroom fitments didn't work very well.

Good clean room with two balconies. We asked for a room with a bath and were given one. The idea of offering free hot drinks throughout the day was excellent. The hotel is very central. There are two big underground carparks within four or five minutes, both alas with very small parking places. Check in from 1400 appreciated. Good that the hotel is completely non-smoking.

The only negative happened first morning when we wanted to sleep longer. The cleaning staff working in the other nearby rooms unfortunately did not seem to realize that there still could be people in bed at 8am. On the other hand we got up and enjoyed our day a little longer thus not a big issue.

The hotel is very well located not only for the city of Toulon but also to get bus connections to other famous locations such as Saint Tropez. The staff is very friendly and helpful

Location is excellent,less than10min walk from the train station. Turn left out the door of the hotel and it's less than 15min walk to the port, you're 5min from city centre with loads of shops and restaurants. Turn right and you are less than 50mts from a main bus route with access to nearby beach if you want. We stayed in room 409, very clean, seperate bedroom, bathroom, toilet modern and spotlessly clean. There was also a wardrobe with loads of space and good air-conditioning in the room. The bathroom had a bath with overhead shower and a wall mounted hair dryer. The bedroom had a courtyard view( I knew this when I booked), it did not take away from the quality of the room but upgrade to a street view if available, we just kept the window open and curtains closed( our choice). The front desk staff were very polite, friendly and extremely helpful, they even gave me an iron board and iron, spoke english and all were very accommodating, including nightstaff. We stayed here for 4 nights. They also allowed us to leave our luggage after we checked out, this was very helpful as it allowed us to walk around the city before getting the train. If you are a couple visiting Toulon, save yourself the hassel and just stay here, I thought it was great value for the location, easy access to city, bus network and the port ( get the ferry to St Mandrier, €4.00 return, for a swim and a pleasant trip across the harbour, ask at hotel reception) Enjoy Barry
