Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Belgiumbreakfast not up to expectations for that kind of price. one croissant and only a small piece of baguette per person. the host did not bring additional baguette when another table left only a small piece (5cm) edge from the available baguette. Comfort of the room was ok, but with nothing exceptional justifying the price. Garden a bit run down. decoration of the room seems to date from the same time as the castle itself. We would recommend a refresh or dusting off of deco

United KingdomWe would have liked coffee making facilities in the bedroom, but understand the desire to ensure the period furniture is not damaged with spillages, etc.
Quietly set in lovely grounds, the original features in the old rooms of the château have been sympathetically retained. The owner greeted us on our arrival and was a great host - booking us dinner in a local restaurant when most places were shut on Sunday evenings.

United KingdomOur room in the roof had a large beam crossing the floor with 2 steps up and 2 steps down. This should be indicated in booking as clients with mobility issues would find this room difficult. Pool needs a clean though I think there may have been some heavy rain before we arrived

NetherlandsIf you like to sleep in a 19th century museum you’re fine. Rooms and beds (very small, not for tall Dutch people) are antique and outdated. Nothing wrong with a classic chateau however this needs serious updating and a bit of a temporary touch. Not a fresh smell when we entered the building.

United KingdomCompletely run down. We were looking for charming not derelict! Some of the decor is “of another generation”, not very BLM!!! We were running late due to traffic, my wife had been trying to call all day I emailed. We arrived at 11pm the place was locked up and dark. No answer on phone or the bell. We had to sleep in our car with our 3 young children. In the morning the people at the hotel were completely unsympathetic. I got our rooms so we could all wash and change clothes. Breakfast was pitiful reheated frozen croissants going by how dry and tasteless they were. The driveway is completely overgrown our car got scratched on the roof. The whole place reeked of a serious lack of effort. All they had to do was reply and say a late check in was not possible and we could’ve have found somewhere else. Instead the response in the morning was “we were probably asleep”. No sympathy at all.

United KingdomTotally miss-sold.. Photos of our ‘suite’ were not the rooms we were described or provided with.. When we pointed this out to our ‘reluctant’ host - we were told that we didn’t buy the suite in the photos - we merely bought lodgings the property! (we were stuck with two small rooms up in the attic..) A cluttered, stained, very dusty and very tired property in need of a good dose of tender loving care!! On arrival we were asked at what time we should like to take breakfast…. We assumed (erroneously) that this was because we would be provided with some cooked eggs/sausage/bacon perhaps? We came down to the deliciously enticing smell of cooked breakfast fare - but disappointingly were presented with just a plain croissant each, an array of empty jam jars, and a narrow choice of yogurt pots… (it transpired that the cooked offering was being enjoyed in the adjacent room by our ‘reluctant’ host! ). The only saving grace at the whole breakfast debacle being the small fresh bean coffee making machine!!
A thoroughly unremarkable property….- though credit where credit due - the dinner booked for us in a small local hotel by our ‘reluctant’ host was excellent! And thankfully the bedding was clean..

GermanyHighly romantic french castle with lot of original decorations and very sweet owners. Ad they only have very few guests, it’s perfect to relax and spend time together as a couple. The park is breathtaking and very romantic. Everything was very clean and we felt like dukes ir princes. Definitely coming back! Perfect to get away from stressful work life. United KingdomVery poor breakfast, no WiFi or TV in the room. Quite a noisy location near a railway line and church bells striking right next to the room. Hosts were welcoming but had to look for them for breakfast and unavailable at checkout. Poor customer service. It's a B & B which hasn't got it quite right in terms of looking after guests.
The room was spacious with a large bathroom. Friendly hosts.

NetherlandsNo possibilities to eat something or drink. You had to order a bottle, a glass was not possible. Limited breakfast. Only bread/ croissant with butter or jam. For a stop it is relative expensive, you would like to have additional eat/ drinking facilities.
