Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The bed was not very comfortable and the pillow too high. Also it was very noisy at night. You can hear every voice, every opened door.

Would’ve only appreciated any kind of slippers and/or different types of pillows. The shower was also tiny, but we managed. Other than these small things, everything was great!
It’s just right! Everything is clean & simple and made our visit amazing! It’s very close to the metro so that’s a plus also! Staff were so friendly, especially the guy working night shifts (didn’t catch his name unfortunately).

I could hear other guests beside my room. The doors are loud to close and to lock, the bathroom was nice, small and clean but the toilet is not properly installed. It seems like there is a loose screw. The toilet paper holder is wrongly placed, the toilet paper falls down when you pull it.
The bed was big enough for me, comfortable and the pillows were okay too. I love the location of Est Hotel because of its proximity to the Gare L’est. Friendly staff and attentive. I like that I can leave my luggage before my departure in the evening.

The only thing for us was how noisy it was on the ground floor in the morning. Not sure if that was other guests or the staff.
The Reception area is really welcoming, calm and smelt amazing. Room was a very decent size as was the bathroom. Very near to the gare du nord and gare de L’est. also a short walk from 2 metro stations. Staff were very helpful

The bathroom needed stronger ventilation, because there was no window and also the bathtub was quite slippery!

No mosquito netting on the windows and no air condition. On a hot day it would have been uncomfortable-if you open the windows there would have been mosquitos. There was a fan in the room which could help.

Its hard to find fault really if i had to pick anything I would say, there could have been more tea choices left when replenished and although there was a lot of choice fir breakfast, there could have been more options.
The staff were amazing! Very friendly and welcoming. The room was cleaned everyday and the tea and coffee facilities were replenished everyday.

Like a few other hotels in Paris, you have to leave the key at the front desk every time and every day you leave the room.
Great location. Breakfast excellent value. Complimentary coffee in the lobby.

A little dated and the take away cups instead of crockery was unusual however they did the job

Walls between rooms were like paper and also the door to the corridor did not isolate any sounds coming from there.
The location was good. The hotel itself was nicely remodeled and clean and the staff were super nice!

The doors were all quite loud and badly noise insulated and since my single room was so small, my bed was right next to the door. So everyone at my corridor leaving or arriving woke me up...

the hotel has a good location. check-in went without problems. the staff is polite and responsive. the room was clean, cleaned every day. if your room faces the avenue, it will be very noisy. They changed my number without any problems.

More choice of teas for my morning cuppa would have been lovely, but they had a green tea which was tasty and I only need one teabag, so it's a very minor niggle.
Had a fabulous overnight stay. Easy to reach from Gare du Nord. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. They speak perfect English but were also willing to endure my improver French. Room was well set out and immaculately clean. I'll definitely be staying again when I want to spend longer in Paris.

We could hear every word spoken in the bathroom of the room next door. Fortunately it was our own family! I accidentally left my binoculars behind in the room but when I messaged the hotel via booking.com (the next day and several times after that) they didn't reply at all. Eventually I emailed the hotel, the replied was just "Sorry, we didn't find anything in the room".
The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The walls are thin and you can hear people speaking and moving around
The hotel was very clean and is in the process of improvement. The room was basic but had everything we needed. All amenities were in good working order. The breakfast was good for 9 euro with fresh pastries,, bread, eggs, youghurt and hot drinks. We had a pleasant 1 night stay and chose this hotel as it is near to garde nord for the eurostar but it is closer to garde l'est. Being able to leave our cases after checking out was great and all the staff were very helpful. There was a nice area at the breakfast room with board games,, we hadn't noticced them or would have used them , overall I believe the hotel is ideal for a short stopover.
