Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BulgariaWhen I was making the reservation the pictures on Booking and on Hotel Gabriel's site were very nice, with modern feeling and it looked as a recently renovated hotel. In reality the rooms have nothing to do with the pictures on Booking and on hotel's site - they are in totally different style, not bad but far from modern, light-colored and attractive. After we entered the rooms and saw they are not what we booked I went to the reception to ask why is this and expected that they gave us some non-renovated rooms. The receptionist explained to me that indeed the pictures they advertise are not the real pictures of the rooms and that she is sorry about it but there is nothing she can do. I asked why are they showing fake pics as this is very misleading and makes guest feel disappointed when they see the real rooms' design but she just kept repeating that she knows and she is sorry and there is nothing she can do. I have never had such experience of a hotel advertising another design and style which is different from reality. If you decide to book Hotel Gabriel be prepared that pictures on Booking are not what you will check in. On the second day I found out that the hair dryer is not working, when I asked the receptionist to check it he said he would do and will bring a new one. I kept asking for it in the next 3 days of our stay and everybody was promising to fix it but I never got a new hairdryer to use. There was also a case when the rooms were not cleaned one of the days, the explanation being that they were busy this day... Breakfast is fine with basic stuff such as croissants, eggs and some fruit but don't expect any variety. As the small lobby is used as breakfast venue it is quite crowded so go down earlier in the morning or you would have to wait for a table.
Location was excellent, close to metro stations and busses and around all sorts of restaurants. We had booked 2 adjacent rooms and they were clean, nice surprise was the Easter chocolate left as welcome gift.

United KingdomThere are some caveats but it's not something you should highlight as things I don't like. Everything is fine!
I recently stayed at Hôtel Gabriel Paris, conveniently located in République, providing easy access to explore Paris. The hotel, though small, offers a pleasant stay experience. The room I occupied was spacious and well-organized, allowing ample room for movement. Moreover, it was impeccably clean, and the bathroom boasted more space than typically found in other hotels. During my visit, I noted that the lobby was undergoing renovations. While this made maneuvering around the hotel a bit uncomfortable, it was understandable given the circumstances. Regarding breakfast, I found it to be quite satisfying with a variety of options catering to different tastes. However, it's essential to remember that breakfast is meant to be enjoyed moderately, rather than indulging excessively. One aspect to note is that the breakfast area in the lobby seemed insufficient to accommodate all guests comfortably, leading to occasional waits for seating. Overall, despite the minor inconveniences, I would certainly choose to stay at Hôtel Gabriel Paris again in the future.

United KingdomThe room we stayed in was not featured at all on booking.com website and because it’s decor was very different to those featured, I feel it should have been shown
Hotel Gabriel is situated in the trendy 11th arrondissement which was perfect for reaching all the famous landmarks. The staff of the hotel were friendly and helpful, even when there was a problem with the magnetic key which was quickly remedied. The hotel was pristine with good bathroom fittings. The shower was powerful and the bed comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfast in the morning

United KingdomBreakfast was quite basic - would recommend ordering continental to the room.
Was upgraded to the 'prestige' room on check in (room 505) which, for Paris, was a great size with a very big and comfortable bed, bath tub, seating area and multiple large windows with plenty of light. Black out curtains and sound proofing made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was fully equipped with Nuxe toiletries, Dyson hairdryer and steamer. Location offers easy access to a number of metro stations, as well as Utopie bakery and a handful of small supermarkets nearby. Florence (on reception) was super sweet - and couldn't have been more helpful. Although the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, there was no disturbance at all.

United KingdomOur room, 604, was not like any of the images provided online. Very garish wallpaper, smelt slightly musty-only there for 1 night so not too bad. No lock on door and as there was no key card activation to enter hotel/lobby area so slight issue regarding security we felt.
Good location, nice building, friendly staff that were very helpful throughout the stay-breakfast was nice and lovely dining area. Very close to trains and food places. lovely large windows that opened up, very picturesque.

GermanyThey never fixed the water escape of the toilet in one of our rooms, even though we reported it. It was very pricey but it has to do with the dates
It very well located, beautiful boutique hotel. With good amenities, amazing breakfast. The lobby is very comfortable. The rooms are very pretty and well decorated. One had a cute balcony and the tea cups were very Parisian.
