Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesSimply Outstanding Our family of four spent four nights at Le Clos de l’Ane Dentelle in early June and had wonderful experience thanks to owners Nathalie and Laurant. They are the most gracious, welcoming, and thoughtful hosts we have ever experienced. They greeted us warmly when we arrived and made us feel completely at home throughout our stay. The facility is impeccable: beautifully furnished with such interesting art, including lovely nature scenes painted on the walls by their talented daughter, very comfortable beds, gorgeous views of the countryside from the bedroom windows and more. Coffee for my husband arrived at our bedroom door every morning at 7 am. The breakfasts were delicious and filling, with homemade items supplementing the pastries, fruit, juices and beverages. It is also well-located, giving easy access to the many tourist destinations in the area. When we decided, at the last minute, that we wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride, they called a company on our behalf and served as a go-between while we waited to see if weather conditions would allow us to go. While we did not take advantage of their pool, we really appreciated the air conditioning in the bedrooms our last night there, when the temperatures had risen. Treat yourself to the best and stay with Nathalie and Laurant while you are in the Dordogne Valley.

CanadaWhat a spot to spend the last days of our vacation in the Dordogne Valley. Nathalie and Laurent were great hosts. From a warm greeting when we arrived to seeing them each morning as they brought a wonderful breakfast to our room at the prearranged time. The place is beautifully decorated, our room/living area was super spacious with the view across the valley floor to Castelnaud perched on the opposite hill. And of course the balloons drifting by most mornings and evenings. The location is central, Castelnaud across the bridge, picturesque towns just “down the road” in either direction. The Jardins de Marqueyssac (highly recommend!) just up the hill. About a 25 minute drive to prehistoric cave paintings at Les Eyzies. Everything is close. There are restaurants in the nearby towns, but also a great spot just across the road, with Lucile and Corrine looking after you. The only sad part was having to leave Nathalie, Laurent and their lovely place to head home. Highly recommend this B&B. A real treat!

United KingdomNothing. (Maybe a wardrobe or cabinet for clothing would be helpful), but it was not a problem.
What a wonderful find! A gorgeous French house which boasts well-kept gardens & a welcoming pool for hot summer days. Nathalie & Laurent were fabulous hosts. Their English was better than our poor French & nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts varied each day with fresh produce from family & friends' gardens, just delicious! Nathalie's communication prior to our visit was so helpful when booking our hot air balloon flight. We would highly recommend staying here.

United StatesI absolutely loved this place! Maybe my favorite ever. After biking along the dordogne for 100 miles I was met by Nathalie and Laurent. They are absolutely super hosts. I believe my French took a step up after chatting with them for a while. Excellent recommendation for dinner. Somehow managed to arra,ge for hot air balloons to appear in the sky as we were chatting before dinner. Wonderful homemade breakfast. Room, and the rest of this beautiful house, was decorated in a very cool fashion. I would not only stay again, I'm make it a point to head to France soon JUST to be there!

United KingdomNot really anything that can be done, but the turning into the property is very very sharp if coming from one way so a turn around elsewhere is needed to safely enter. Just something to note for future visitors!
The home is absolutely beautiful and is set perfectly between Beynac and Roque Gageac. Superb position if you want to explore all the towns have to offer.

United KingdomWarning, as this property is very NICHE, our room was very dark, oppressive and had no television. There was also quite a climb to the front door, with many steps and again a climb to the bedroom. The hotel and swimming pool were close to a busy road. We decided not to stay and left the property the same day for another hotel at half the cost.
The owners were very nice.
