Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The staff was everything every single one of them !!!!!! There attention to detail and the service abilities are truly amazing .go above and beyond for you .amazing people .amazing.location. grocery tabbaco restaurants monument within 2 min walk .don't think about it just do it

The beds in the dorms are flimsy and squeaky. There’s no plug installed on the bed and no curtains. If you are used to more modern hostels, this hostel is not going to be comfortable for you more than a couple of nights. The price was extremely high for the state of the building imo.
Location is amazing and the staff are great. The breakfast was simple but good. The view of the room was great!

There is a reconstruction of the facade going on that I would wish to know about beforehand Little fixes that were not done properly - bathroom couldn't be locked, shower corners filled with improper material, the room door was hard to open The bunk beds were really basic and light, when climbing up to the top bed I almost flipped the structure over
The staff was very.friendly There is a large lounge area Beeakfast was nice The building is very old, with wooden beams all across the walls, it was really cool

Blankets are very thin.
Well located, next to the supermarket and sacre Coeur. Short walk to Anvers station. Very clean facilities. Despite the location it is generally pretty quiet hostel. It’s affordable by Paris standards.

The lockers do not fit an actual carry on luggage nor do they have larger to store your luggage. The locker is for a backpack or bag. I stored my valuables in there but left my luggage out. The beds were small and the bathroom even smaller.
The location was nice since it was in Monte Marte.

Electricity plug points could've been improved, both in terms of quantity and position. There were not enough for 4 of us in the dorm room.
Service was exceptional. Shout out to Alex for being such a good sport, having to deal with my clumsiness. Love that they remember their guests' names.

The breakfast was mediocre.
The staff are lovely, the accommodation is close to nearby attractions and train-lines, and it was quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again!

It was sometimes difficult to key into the door to the hostel and would have to swipe the key card multiple times to get in. There was also construction occurring outside my window so we couldn't see out and it was sometimes loud in the morning.
I liked that the 4-bed mixed female room had a bathroom attached. I appreciated the number of hooks to hang things on in the room and in the bathroom and the little stools/table to set things on when needed. I liked that breakfast was served, there was sitting areas and staff was friendly (especially, Alex)

Not a deal breaker but it would be good to not have the tub in the room. But I think it adds to the charm of the property.

The picture showed a bath tub, I did not have this room unfortunately.

The bathroom could be a little bigger and there was a gap in the bath doors, having a flooding on the floor.

The beds could get some improvement since they crack every time you move.
Really good place for a stay in Paris. The place is clean and everyone is actually very nice. The staff was very helpful and nice to talk to. I was in a four-bed dorm and it was perfect to make some friends as a solo traveller. Plus, it is so close from Sacré Coeur, metro station, Gare du Nord and a bunch of nice cafes and bakeries in the area.
