Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsI liked everything!
Maison M is truly wonderful. We received a warm welcome and shown to our lovely rooms which exceeded our expectations. Tegan made sure we had everything we needed. The whole place has a very warm and pleasant atmosphere. The bnb is very centrally located which was a huge plus, we were easily able to pop into the village to explore.

M must stand for ‘Merveilleux’ The house is gorgeously ornate but still so homely. Our hostess was lovely- so helpful and accommodating as was her super friendly doggy who was so gentle with our girls.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at Maison M in the Dordogne. We fell in love with the beautifully designed interiors and spent relaxing afternoons by the peaceful pool. Tegan, our host, made us feel right at home with her warmth and thoughtful touches. We chose the location because it’s close to the Plum Village Buddhist retreat and right along the Camino trail. We also took a quick 30-minute train to Saint-Émilion for wine tasting and explored local châteaux near Sainte-Foy, where we found amazing wines at great prices. Getting there was easy too—just about 1.5 hours from Bordeaux Airport by train and tram. We’ll definitely be back!

United StatesAlso to be expected, there can be some mosquitoes as near the Dordogne river, property doesn’t supply shampoo, just soap (no problem-just good to know). Just supplied two bath towels for the 3 day stay but do have a towel warmer (maybe a USA traveler note)
Probably loveliest property in town w beautiful garden, sweet hostess, and , as expected historical building.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything we didn’t like.
Location in town with private parking was superb and it was tastefully decorated. It had heating if needed including a wood burning stove. Beautiful large garden which was perfect for our little dog; also small swimming pool we didn’t use but looked inviting. Pleasant covered eating, at the rear entrance to the cottage.

United KingdomHonestly? nothing.
I normally fly to Bordeaux on my wine tours but this time from Stansted to Bergerac, Maison M was literally up the road. It was a perfect location to explore the Dordogne. The ambiance of the hotel was first class, my room was beautiful the interior stunning and the host Tegan charming. I will always remember my glass of rose sat under a blooming wisteria canopy; divine. Will definitely return and could not recommend this place more highly.

United KingdomThat we couldn’t get in for half an hour, and there didn’t seem to be any coffee.
It was beautiful and in my favourite town in France, on the main street. The only problem was that somebody had interfered with the inner door and there was no one there to help us get past it. We eventually did, I’m not sure how.

United KingdomUnfortunately and quite surprisingly given its location, Sainte-Foy-la-Grande is a little down at heel with many of the shops and restaurants closed. Luckily Tegan recommends nearby restaurants, however it is advisable to book ahead as there are not many good eateries in the town, those that are open only open between 7 and 9pm so space is limited. We ate at Au Fil de L'eau, which has amazing views across the Dordogne River and lived up to Tegan's recommendation.
Tegan was a fabulous host and the house is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was excellent and extremely sociable. There is free parking right outside the property or you can gain access to an inner courtyard parking area. The Maison also has a lovely pool.

United KingdomNothing that we didn't like. The town was very quiet with not many restaurants and bars closed early, but that wasn't a problem. Shame the weather, in September, wasn't better - but we did have some sunshine and it didn't stop us from doing anything. Too cold to go in the pool though!
Beautiful property, very well appointed with all we needed. Host was very helpful and provided everything for our stay, wonderful breakfast together with other guests in a fantastic big room in the house. Also plenty information about the local area. We had a cottage in the grounds to ourselves and it was very quiet. It was all easy!

SpainEverything was great, nothing negative. Just a remark that there are a lot of mosquitos in the area and the town is a bit run-down. It's nothing to do with Maison M, just for information.
Beautiful house with spacious rooms with high ceilings, designed with taste, which has everthing you need. There are cats, dogs and chicken, which makes it interesting for kids.
