Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The frig did not work for the first day. The kettle had to be replaced. It took some time for us to get a key to the room. Towels were small and thin.
Location was good. Close both train and bus station. Near a couple of very good restaurants. Easy walking distance to the main attractions of the town. Staff were were very pleasant.

Complementary coffee as well as water would be nice
Great location, very comfortable room and a beautiful place Annecy is so wonderful we loved it! Very reasonable parking arranged in partnership with the hotel and parking de la poste.

Breakfast could have been better, less continental.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Gabriella. Rooms were tiny but comfortable. Lift was very quaint.

The size of the room and I felt uncomfortable about getting out of the room in the event of fire. The hallways were narrow and it was like a maze and the window was too small to get through

The room is very small, the window was overlooking to another room, I was glad we only had 1 night there, I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.
The hotel is just 4 minutes walk from the Bus and Train station, that makes it convenient. The historical center is also just 5-6 min walk.

For my solo traveling purposes, this was perfect.
I never stayed at a Mecure property and I was pleasantly surprised. It was streamlined and compact but clean and comfortable. It couldn’t have been more convenient. I will be redisposdd to Mercure properties in the future.

Some of the expected in room items like bar fridge, iron and ironing board weren’t there. I could have missed this in the booking process, but assumed they would be in the room as standard inclusions.
The hotel is in a great location. The rooms have been freshly renovated and are in excellent condition.

Came with car and the parking provided is the public parking of city witch is dangerous where junkies are scratching cars. In addition they o ly offer you to refund your car stay from 8 pm to 8 am. If you arrive at 4 pm, you need to pay 4 hours of public parking. If you ready to have your car damaged and personal items stolen keep going there. Find better alternatives who have own parkings. In addition, 4 star hotel but no iron, not a bottle of water in rooms, not a simple toiletry kit... basicaly you pay a 5 star hotel price with amenities of a 2 stars.

The room service is a little tricky with international roaming sim.
Perfect location of the hotel around couple minutes from the central train and bus station. Very close to the old town and other attractions. Best view from the balcony where you can click a lot of cool photos with the Rhone Alps in the background.

twin room could have been available and booking.com could have not made the booking because a twin was not available.
The hotel failed to provide us with a twin room but the reception staff rang around other local hotels to find a hotel that had an available twin room and cancelled our stay at the mercure without charging us at all. I was stunned by this - I just thought i had an uphill battle ahead of me finding a twin room for the night in a full annecy. Brilliant by reception
