Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaThe room was small and equipments were not commensurate with the price. We expected at least an electric kettle in the room.
The location of this hotel is excellent. Sea beach, eateries, grocery stores all are at walkable distance from the hotel. The breakfast provided was overpriced. There was no warm food apart from coffee.

Nice small room 200m from the beach and the start of the rock trail, old building.

NetherlandsThe parking was far from the hotel, outside in the street, just a couple of meters away from a free public parking, so consider skipping "their parking". The room has only a window pointing to a corridor and an ugly inner-roof. The paint in the bathroom was falling at the shower walls.
The location is good and the staff was very kind.

United KingdomThe room was very basic and dated, the shower and toilet needs updating. This was advertised with parking, but the car park was a good walk away from the hotel
Location, next to the town, and only a few minutes walk to the beach

AustraliaI felt that guests were an imposition to the staff. They opened late for both check in and breakfast. There were slightly threatening signs everywhere about fines that would be incurred for damage, late check out, etc . Do they actually want guests there? The breakfast wasn't ready and other guests and I had to sit in an empty, rather bleak breakfast room for it to be prepared. It was plain and strictly portion controlled and overpriced.
I liked the view from my window over gardens and the hills around the town.

UkraineWe parked right opposite the hotel and they told us that specially here it was free but then deducted 10 euro from our deposit. Wifi was not working at all in none of the rooms.
Good location, rooms were nice and clean. Quiet place, we liked it. Staff doesn’t speak English but they understand English and we understood their French.

GermanyBathroom needs some renovation and could have been cleaner. Hotel offers a parking which is not common in Etretat, it is however 700m away. Was not a major problem for us though.

United StatesNot necessarily negative, but don’t expect to be able to leave your bag at the desk/ check in before your scheduled time. the owner isn’t always there so just schedule a time that will actually work for you. there’s a packet of hair+body wash per person and a bar of soap per person (just bring conditioner if that’s something you use!)
The owner is super kind! The room was clean and comfortable, the shower got hot quickly and everything works as it’s supposed to. It felt extremely safe and is in a great spot!

BelgiumRoom was too small. while booking in website showed good picture with a big room but in actual room was very small and size of the bed was also very small. Only good thing about hotel , they arranged the parking near by. Also room was too hot , when you open the window for ventilation, there was lot of noise by sea birds all the night. it was difficult to sleep.
the location was very good, close to beach.

United KingdomOn arrival, Friday for one night only, the car park, which was a 15 minute walk from the hotel was quoted as 15 EUR but when we came to pay it was increased to 20 EUR. The owner said this was because Sunday, the day following our checkout was a public holiday? The room was already expensive and it felt like the hotel owner was just being greedy. Also, the bedroom had no bedside tables.

France-Room tiny . -Bath unusable… and no reduction to take this I to account . -loud at night, door of thin chipboard. -Staff cold and unaccommodating. (we arrived 3 hours before check in and asked to leave our bags at reception and use the toilet - two requests I don’t find outrageous for paying guests. The woman was unhappy to keep our bags, and we were told the toilets were for staff only, and to go and use the public restroom 500m down the road… what the hell…)

GermanyA terrible hotel, I had to take a bus back to Paris the same day as I did not want stay in the facilities. Exactly the case when the greedy pays twice. The reception works only in specified hours, to have a luggage kept at the reception they charge 4 EUR per bag! Again, to pick it up one should be only in specific hours. Receptionists do not speak English or pretend not to be speaking, in general friendly but 0 help. The facilities are quite modest, no toilet supplies in the bathroom, the room was cleaned but I personally did not feel neither comfortable nor safe to stay here. I travelled solo, they charged me 2 EUR for city tax instead of one (on the booking.com) they do not allow booking for 1 person.
Very central location, but Etretat is tiny in general

GermanyThe toilet was too simple and not great, the pictures online were looking better than the room was. It felt very oldish and not too modern at all. But for a night it did it. Was too expensive for that room.
It was very local so you could access the beach easy and small town center was around the corner. The host was very friendly but communication in French only .
