Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Stateswe went right before the fringe, so the prices were a bit high, but probably reasonable compared to other places. the only thing that was hard for us is that there are no elevators -- which can be prohibitive for the disabled and elderly, as there are quite a few stairs to climb.
The team was very responsible via whatsapp. the room was clean. there was plenty of coffee and tea. and the lady that worked there helped us right away when we couldn't work the coffee machine. there was even a jacuzzi. overall, we had a great stay. the location cannot be beat as it was easily reachable from the airport and within walking distance of most of the sites.

United StatesOur room wasn't the best for traveling with our 1.5 year old. We were staying on the second floor with no lift and the two little kids. It was a bit of a schlep to get all of our stuff upstairs. Also, it was very easy for our 1.5 year old to open the door to the hallway since we didn't have a dead bolt in the door.
The location was perfect, our daughter loved the jacuzzi bathtub, and I appreciated that there was a cot available for our 1.5 year old. I also appreciated that we could store our luggage after check out. The staff was very kind. Thank you!

United StatesSo, there is 1 king bed and pull out couch bed, which we knew. However, once you open the couch bed, it blocked you from the bathroom if you were sleeping on the king. So, in the middle of the night, you had to crawl over those in pullout. It's not big deal since we are family, but just be aware if traveling with friends.
Location, very clean and only met cleaning lady and she was very nice. A nice gentleman who was working on bottom apartment helped us bring up our luggage.

GermanyThe sleeper sofa in our room was a bit uneven, but we still all slept ok. No lift and fairly steep stairs could be a challenge for less able bodied guests
The location is absolutely perfect for exploring Edinburgh. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were available to answer questions by phone and everything worked out very smoothly. There are lots of places nearby to get dinner or breakfast. The parking in st James Quarter was a bargain and straightforward to manage.

United StatesWith the tall dramatic windows and swooping draperies, it was a pity to have such an uninspiring view of a blackened stone wall. :)
In spite of the location, it was very quiet at night. The bed was excellent, very comfortable and big. We took the train from Waverly to London at the end of our stay, and our room was very convenient and close to Waverly.

United StatesThe manager made new accommodations because our room had a maintenance issue. She was very kind and explained the issue and that she would have us in another property building. We were grateful for her assistance.

NetherlandsThe staff seemed somewhat disorganized. I had asked online if they could store my luggage in the storage room after check-out, and they confirmed they could. However, when I returned to the hotel, the staff at the desk were unaware of this arrangement, and my luggage was not in the storage room. Instead, it had been left in our room, which was quite confusing.
This nice place is located right in the middle of the city. The bed sleeps very well and the bathroom is great! The check-in was easy.

United StatesThe sofa beds are insanely uncomfortable. Unless you have small children don’t book these rooms thinking a teen or adult could sleep on the sofa bed. A major issue for rooms is that the beds have to be comfortable. I could never recommend the sofa beds. We had two one in each room and they should both be replaced. They’re awful.
The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Instructions for getting into and out of the location are easy to follow. The location is great!

Myself and two friends stayed here for a weekend trip and we absolutely loved it. The room itself was fabulous with high ceilings and beautiful decor. The main double bed was huge and we also had a sofa bed which pulled into a double bed. There’s a cafe/ restaurant downstairs in the suites which was lovely. Staff were really attentive and everything ran smoothly. Lastly, the location was perfect and right in the city centre which made exploring the city really easy. I would definitely recommended staying here for a weekend break !

SwitzerlandBetween approximately noon to 1-2 am in the morning a restaurant must have had some industrial ventilator on because there was a quite loud machine noise present which prevented me from sleeping. I am quite sensitive to light and noise, so this might not be a problem for everyone. One could also hear restaurant personal working (moving boxes and trash) at night. All this despite the closed windows. So, the backward facing rooms are not suitable for people with light sleep (or bring ear plugs).
Overall, I was very pleased with the room. It was large, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also large and very clean. I was also presently surprised about the heating, as I visited in December and often the heating is not sufficient but I was able to easily heat up the room to 23 degrees with the thermostat. There was no view as the room was facing backwards, which is not a problem as I did not need a view. I was quite happy with everything.
