Absutely loved our stay at Ancrum House. It's finished to an exceptional standard and was spotlessly clean too. The amenities are great and the 4 bed 4 bath accommodation is great. Tracey was a great host too who communicated well throughout the booking and was there on arrival to meet and greet. Highly recommend this place

Ancrum House was absolutely amazing! The house was absolutely spotless and Tracey was excellent and explained how everything worked! The kids had their own space to play which meant us adults could get some time together as well! It is the most beautiful house we have ever stayed at and can’t recommend highly enough to anyone looking for a fantastic holiday experience. The property isn’t far from the train station and only 14 mins to Carlisle which meant we didn’t need to drive!

Nothing, the place is perfect.

The house was immaculately clean and so spacious. We met one of the owners(Tracey) and she was just fab. She was extremely helpful and friendly, and only a message away if we needed anything. All details were thought about and it felt like a home away from home. We all enjoyed the hot tub and had a BBQ. Location was great, right next to the train station which made it so much easier for our big family.

We liked absolutely everything. The house is beautiful and you can find everything you need . Great location, wonderful garden, and especially the hot tub! The host, Tracey, was kind enough to let us check in early, and during the whole stay, she was sooo helpful. I would recommend to anyone to stay in this amazing house and we would love to come back again!

No negatives, apart from the fact that the bbq needs replaced. Having said that, there was a family-sized disposable bbq available for us to use, so it didn't detract from our stay in any way.

The house was absolutely spotless, with great facilities. Well kitted-out kitchen and comfortable beds. The bathrooms have clearly been redone recently, so everything felt very fresh. The garden is a lovely suntrap, with the hot-tub and trampoline being particular highlights. Tracey was very welcoming and provided a bottle of pink prosecco for our arrival. Great location to explore the local area, or slightly further afield - the Lake District is within easy reach for a nice day trip.

Had a brilliant stay at Ancrum House for my sister's hen weekend! The house was amazing and had everything that we needed and more! Tracey was lovely, came to meet us when we settled in to show us how to work the hot tub and there was a bottle of prosecco left for us which was a lovely touch. Would definitely love to stay again in the future, thanks again! 🥰

What an amazing house! Everything was perfect. The four bedrooms were comfortable and suited our group to a T. Having the front Living Room separate was good so that the kids could be watching TV away from the adults. Tracey was in contact with us and all instructions were very clear. The kids love the trampoline and were very disappointed that we had absolutely no time to go in the Jacuzzi. They said they’d come back to Gretna just to stay in that house!

There was nothing at all we didn't like.

We have just come home from our stay at Ancrum house. I booked it for our family to stay there over the weekend as we were attending my daughters wedding at gretna green. The house was perfectly located for both the ceremony and the reception afterwards. Both locations were only a 5 min walk from the house. The garden hot tub, trampoline and outdoor seating area were perfect for us to congregate before the wedding and for the day after when we could all relax. The toy kitchen was a massive hit with my youngest grandson. The house was immaculate both inside and out. Tracey was there to show us how everything worked and was a phone call away if we needed anything. ( not that we did as it was all perfect.) I definatley recommend this house for families or friends who want a place to stay. Five stars are not enough. Thankyou for making our weekend so perfect. Anne

We all enjoyed Ancrum house, hot tub was fab and trampoline was loved by our 3 year old granddaughter, lovely big garden for her to run around in, house was spacious, 7 of us, but we didn't feel we were falling over each other, we really enjoyed our stay there
