Rooms opening into beer garden and the bathroom situation requires you to be eminently comfortable with each other. Woken up by beer delivery/recycling very early, but I suppose to be expected staying at a bar.

Very friendly, helpful staff and great breakfast. Comfy bed!

It was very hot in the room above the courtyard - the window only opened slightly - a fan was on when we arrived so very effort had been made to make it as comfortable as possible - we had to sleep with the door open !! With the dogs bed in the doorway ! But it was unusually hot for the UK . Bar closed early ( on this and our previous stay ) so we were unable to get a drink when we returned from our evening ( did feel a little like one member of staff in particular just wanted to get away - I’m sure he did and I don’t blame him - but would be nice not to show it - but that is such a minor point and didn’t spoil our stay .

Location in town is perfect . Interesting building , light and airy . The breakfast service was so good , despite being solo on both days the staff worked so hard .

Wasn’t aware the bath/shower was in the bedroom rather than separate. It was very tight on headroom for the pair of us (each 6’ tall)

The toilet was consistently running water - some sort of issue with the filler? This was irritating and the toilet also smelt vaguely of sewage, which was a huge disappointment. Someone should have told us / this should have been checked before we arrived. Luckily we could close the door on the smell. A few extra touches would have made this worth the money. No milk to make a cup of tea or mini-fridge in a £200 + room?? Despite there being a beautiful big bath there was no bubble bath to enjoy. Toiletries very minimal. A cafetiere only suitable for one person when there were two of us staying...just thoughtful extras would have really elevated everything. I feel like they rely on the fact that the building is beautiful to get away with cutting corners.

The room we stayed in was beautiful and tucked up a tiny staircase. The big bath was amazing - loved having a soak! The bed was comfortable and TV had access to Netflix etc. Quiet at night. Breakfast was good - especially the coffee. The room was sparkling clean and a thoughtful welcome note had been handwritten and left for us by staff, which I thought was very sweet. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

The Breakfast was a disaster…. No blame on the staff that was front of house …. Needs to have a continental breakfast choice on a table .

The old style was very attractive with different little places to sit dotted everywhere

We stayed on the very top floor which was difficult to access up a very tight staircase while carrying a big case. Due to visiting in July the room was unbearably warm despite a fan being provided. They are not allowed to install air con due to the age of the building

Beautiful old building that has been modernised to include pub, restaurant and rooms. Staff were super friendly and helpful

Having to change rooms after I had unpacked my belongings (the sink in my original room allocation was blocked). To be fair, the staff soon sorted this for me ,although such an issue should have been attended to before the release of the room.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. 'Character' accommodation bang in the centre of Frome. I particularly enjoyed the pizza bar meal in the evening. Overall, the sink issue did not detract from an enjoyable experience.

The bed head creaked noisily if you turned over. Not really a criticism, since why would the staff test a bed like that? But if they could apply some beeswax or something, silent bliss would be achieved.

A historical building sensitivity restored. Nice breakfast. Extremely well run from a customer's point of view. Spotlessly clean.

The room was accessible with a windy staircase which was difficult to climb up with a suitcase. The room was dark but that’s what you expect in a old pub.

Thé location was great The staff really friendly and breakfast delicious . The dining area lovely and good food. Bed comfortable with a nice welcoming hand written note. It had even a coffeemaker in the room.

Breakfast was cold (cold eggs benedict on a cold plate) and muffin was hard. Did not complain at the time, as I had to get my car out of the car park before 9am to avoid further parking charges. Would have sent it back under different circumstances...

Hand-written welcome note from housekeeping team was a nice touch. Location was just right - a couple of minutes walk from the gig at the Cheese & Grain.
