It would have been even better if the TV in our private lounge had Disney+, but we were easily able to watch this on our laptop.

We absolutely loved our attic room. The fact our hotel room had a lounge area was amazing. It was cosy, comfortable and modern. We really enjoyed our evenings watching Netflix on the big screen TV. The bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. They have a foam mattress over a regular mattress that makes for the most amazing night’s sleep. The bedroom was so beautifully laid out and decorated. There were two windows which let in a lot of natural light which I love. The breakfasts were included in the price of the hotel room and they were delicious. I had a full English breakfast on the first day and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on the second day. Both days we had tea and a bowl of fruit too. You would be looking at at least £10 per breakfast if you went out for the same meals. The breakfast host was really friendly and helpful and brought our breakfasts promptly. On arrival we were offered complementary wine. Unfortunately, we’re not big wine drinkers so we passed on this. The hotel was extremely clean and modern with a dash of tradition. The hotel is located 20 mins walk from the train station in a beautiful area looking over the hills. It’s off the main road so you don’t hear much traffic in your room. There are busses to the railway station and the lakeside towns every 20 minutes and the hotel has ample car parking spaces. There are so many great places to eat around the hotel. We went for a Thai on the first night and a Chinese on the second. All in all we had a fantastic experience at the Rum Doodle and was well worth the booking fee.

Nothing .. everything was perfect!

Lovely balance of keeping the beautiful original features of the property, but still having a modern Boutique-feel to the rooms. Wine and a Beer on arrival .. lovely touch. Breakfasts were tasty with plenty of choice and excellent quality food. Staff were friendly and ultra helpful .. The property is in a quiet residential area, so a short walk to the main shopping in Windermere .. not a problem for us. Would stay again.

It was very clean warm and welcoming it was a lovely environment

It was in the middle of winter so everywhere looked tired so there was nothing to worry about the look from outside…. But internally it was very warm and welcoming

Nothing, really. Parking was a bit tight but was off the road and obviously determined by the area.

Very welcoming and comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Room was well presented and tastefully decorated. Used interesting pieces of furniture in keeping with the property, which was more fitting than the standard flat pack stuff. Comfy bed and pillows. Would stay again.

The lighting in the room was quite dim, although the bathroom had good lighting. The towel rail didn't seem to work.

I liked everything about this property.

Its location was great. It was exceptionally well presented and clean. Bathroom was very well appointed and luxury towels. Breakfast was spot on, excellent ingredients and plenty of choice: no corners cut with either quantity or quality. We were given keys to come and go as we pleased with no awkward conversations in the lobby.

I didn't like that my eyes were bigger than my stomach - I wish we could have stayed longer so I could enjoy more breakfasts!

The late check-in, the red wine on arrival, the comfort of the bedroom, the fashionable bathroom, the cosiness of the space, the convenient location, the breakfast! Easier to say what I didn't like.
