Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nothing really - honestly we had a very nice time, and I don't think there was anything else I could have hoped for.
Absolutely lovely small bolthole for the weekend - perfect for a couple. Absolutely spot on location-wise with good access to the tube; an excellent shower and lovely lounge. I hope very much that we will return soon!

There was no provision for direct communication with the host, which I felt was a bit odd. I had to write messages via Booking.com, which meant no instant feedback. All the feedback was received, nonetheless. An easier way to communicate with the host would be just perfect; at least a telephone contact for quick clarification of matters.
The location, with its proximity to train station- South Ruislip, was awesome. The rooms were very clean. It felt like home away from home. All that we required for comfortable accommodation was provided. Since we were visiting our other family in Eastcote, we were out most of the time; leaving in the morning and returning back in the evening. We nevertheless enjoyed the times spent at the facility, which is located in a quiet neighbourhood. We were also thrilled when our deposit was returned intact 😂.

The apartment is situated 4 mins away from the train station. It is a very cosy and tidy apartment with a very nice decor to it. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The host was very helful over the phone and did not hesitate to clarify any of my questions.

Although there were useful cooking utensils, cling film,foil, kitchen roll, coffee pods etc, there was strangely only one wine glass, no teaspoons and one or two other missing items - had previous occupant made off with some of the kitchen equipment?!
Lovely clean studio flat with good quality furnishings and linens, comfortable bed, really good shower and bathroom, washing machine, well-equipped kitchenette and dining table with nice view over (non-accessible) balcony and trees so could eat in. Adjacent parking space, great location for tube, buses, local restaurants and shops. Owner provided prompt and useful information

Upon my arrival, I encountered a strong smell of curry in the room. While this initial odor was a bit overwhelming, it dissipated fairly quickly after opening the windows for some fresh air.
My recent stay at Carolyn's Place was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, Ms. Jeanne Pop's hospitality and attention to detail were evident. Her proactive communication and detailed instructions made my check-in effortless, ensuring a smooth start to my stay. The accommodation was impeccable, and everything was in perfect working order. The provided instructions were clear and accurate, making navigation around the property hassle-free. Ms. Jeanne Pop's kindness in swiftly returning my forgotten watch showcased a level of care that goes above and beyond. Not only was the stay comfortable and convenient, but the effort and dedication of the host, Ms. Jeanne Pop, truly made the experience memorable. Her professionalism and responsiveness in addressing any concerns were noteworthy. I'm immensely grateful for the exceptional service and care provided during my visit. The only thing to raise is the bed and pillows were uncomfortable for our liking. Mattress very springy so our nights sleep was affected smd a few communication issues with the host via booking.com but due to other positives would stay again

Not a fault to mention
Place was very tastefully decorated, very clean, and well equipped. Host was helpful and responsive, great communication. Quiet, comfortable just as wanted, could not find anything negative at all.

One niggle, if I were to be really picky, no tin opener could be located. But we worked round it & it was 1 tin of food for the dog, so not a big deal!
The apartment was very well equipped, really comfortable. The location is a nice neighbourhood with easy access to shops and transport links. The apartment was dog friendly too, which meant we could bring our pampered pooch with us. The host was lovely & friendly & couldn't have been more helpful.

The sofa bed for the third guest could have been a bit softer, but otherwise everything was perfect.
Loved the location, very practical and peaceful. The apartment is superb, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. Very good communication with the host.

Apartment was very clean and comfy, we've had everything what we needed. Contacting host was very easy and she was very helpful. Apartment is in a short distance from shops and station. We had a lovely stay.
