How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast. I ended up paying £27.98 for me and my just turned 16 year old to have a continental breakfast. My daughter had a bowl of cereal.
Loved the location and that you had ev chargers in the car park. The lady at reception was lovely on our arrival

Friendly welcome, very welcoming environment! Staff, especially at breakfast! The young lady serving me could not do enough for me! All staff were very friendly and very welcoming

Tv channel choice was quite poor with some channels not working or heavily pixilated. No additional tv services lime access to streaming services such as Netflix etc. Nothing complimentary in the room like bottles of water.
Bathroom facilities were great and the bed was very comfy. Good view from the room. Plug sockets available next to the bed.

The price of the breakfast is high, as you don't get much. Hotel is showing it's age.
A function was going on so a little noisy when we went to bed.

It was all good
This is a clean tidy and well organized local hotel heared for business travellers and local events. It is clear that it is well managed with committed local staff . I only regreat arriving too late for the restaurant

Reception staff could have been warmer, it seemed a bit frosty on departure, not even a 'did you like your stay'. It wasn't a spoiler though as everything else was great.
The restaurant food was very good, much better than other hotels I have stayed at. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, that was excellent as I hate those lukewarm buffet breakfasts all the big chains do these days.

Had a fire alarm go off at 4.45 in the morning had to evacuate but no staff outside to tell us what was going wrong

Room was too hot despite turning off the radiator and opening a window. Didn’t eat at the hotel - breakfast was pretty expensive so decided to go elsewhere and get a good cooked breakfast for half the price.
Good swift welcome on arrival despite arriving very late at night. Comfortable bed, clean, bathroom clean and good shower. Easy to find and convenient location.

The cold food and single bed! Get rid of them!
When are hotels getting rid of single beds? People just don't want them anymore.. Just because you are a single traveller you still want comfort. The room was clean, but starting to look dated. Food in the so called restaurant was cold, even after sending it back - I refused to pay for it when checking out. Continental breakfast was a joke, didn't venture down the cooked breakfast route in case that was cold. The setting of the hotel is on the edge of an industrial estate so don't be fooled by the photos on the website. It was ok for one night, but come on Best Western, get a grip!

Internet was non existent could not get to work. And my 4G was poor so could not complete work in room. Restaurant was ok but service charge added to meal without my knowledge and acceptance Meal for £95 for 2 was not value for the quality

No 'rough' cider in the bar! Can't comment on the restaurant as we didn't have the need to use it.
Check in was straight forward, the room was clean & comfortable with ample drinks making kit. The view of the adjoining golf course was particularly welcome, even though we don't play! The Autumn colours on the nearby trees were a bonus. No disturbance from other guests or traffic, it felt quite secluded even though it was only about 100 yards from the main road. We stayed for three nights & each time we entered the property we were met with a cheery greeting from the reception staff. Convenient for the town, short drive or fifteen minute walk. Ample parking. Confident we'll be back!
