Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnfortunately, the shower unit lacked sufficient power to provide an enjoyable experience. We were unable to establish if that was due to low water pressure or a defective shower head on the hose.
The size of the room was ample. The view from my window was excellent and the toiletries provided were luxurious. The restaurant had a beautiful ambience which complimented the delicious food presented by the resident chef. In the morning, our breakfast was brought to our room bang on the time we selected, with everything we ordered, and presented with sufficient heat to be consumed in comfort.

United KingdomWe knew our room would be in the Mews building but it was still a little disappointing and very small. The Mews feels very much like a corporate training venue and essentially that's what it is. The TV remote was missing from our room. The hospitality tray was poor for a De Vere. The changing rooms for the swimming pool are tiny. And, despite asking for a locker key (as instructed), the small number of lockers were full of people's belongings and left unlocked. The hotel was very busy, and the staff didn't seem to have time for anyone. As mentioned, the cooked breakfast was excellent, but other items ran out quickly and the quality wasn't as expected.
The original building is beautiful, as is the landscape around the hotel. And, inside, the bar, lounge area and restaurant are lovely. The cooked beakfast was very good and the fresh juices very nice. Bed was comfortable. Swimming pool is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking.

United KingdomWe booked an evening meal, the risotto was not as described, it was just prawns and not the seafood it promised, the smoked haddock was missing the peas and the squeak from the bubble and squeak; perhaps, we should have said something at the time but after a 5 hour journey, which should have taken 3 hours, we just wanted to have a meal and go to bed.
The reception staff were excellent, our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good.

United KingdomRoom was nice but no real temperature control so very hot until early morning. Bed was not the best as mattress was very old with several broken springs. Sat on side of bed and the end of one spring scratched the back of my leg. Made reception aware when leaving so hopefully this will just require a new mattress.
Décor was really nice as was the location. Excellent walking location to visit surrounding area and trails clearly marked. Food was very good quality and quantity with good friendly service. Did not have time to use pool or gym.

United KingdomThe room we stayed in was very small. Possibly the smallest room we've stayed in an hotel. The breakfast was tasty but we felt the choices were limited. My husband is vegetarian and there were no vegan sausages both mornings we had breakfast at the hotel
We were impressed with the beauty of De Vere Latimer. The spralling valleys; the streams that ran through them, absolutely spectacular views. The quaint country hotel is gorgeous in it's own right.

United KingdomThr main hotel is old but there are separate buildings some of which are business suites with rooms in and this was where my room was- the vast majority of people were there as part of corporate groups. This is a business hotel, it may be a different vibe at the weekend but wouldn’t be one I’d select if going away with my partner. Gym is small, steam room was working but sauna not, changing rooms are tiny.
I needed one night in this location and the hotel was well managed. The room was clean and modern. The bar, lounge and restaurant good features and the food was good.
