We arrived at a quiet time of the season and found 'Lisa' our hostess her usual welcoming self . We have been staying at the Elmington on & off for the past 20yrs and on each occasion we have had an enjoyable stay. We have noticed a gradual improvement to the decor & furnishings on each visit and the garden & grounds are well maintained. The view from the breakfast room overlooking the seafront & sea is really special !

The price was a little more than we wanted to pay but we were so glad we decided to book.

The room was large and spacious and the view towards the bay was lovely. Lisa was warm and welcoming and the breakfast was very good.

Fried eggs fried too much for my tastes but breakfast was good overall.

Owner and staff were very welcoming. Room was a good size, very comfortable bed and a well cooked breakfast. Walking distance to Torquay's main attractions.

The swimming pool was off-limits due to the weather. Heartbroken, as I wanted to do a touch of skinny-dipping for my early morning routine.

Lisa was a pleasant and welcoming hostess. Her smile and charming character were endearing. The interior decor of the hotel was warm, cozy with hints of southeast Asian influence. The full English breakfast was super tasty, and quick to prepare. Torquay is a gorgeous place to visit. I intend to return next year and prefer it over the overly crowded city of London.

Bathroom was a little small but it was ok. A mini fridge in the room would have been good so we could keep some bottles of cold water and some milk.

The bathroom was quite small and the door didn't close properly but this didn't affect us too much as a couple.

Breakfast was good and the hotel was quiet. Good location not too close to town but only a short walk to lots of shops/restaurants.

Lovely room, very clean and very well serviced. Very good choice at breakfast and cooked very fresh. Personally I would have liked some fruit and yoghurt but that wasn't a problem.

Nothing not to like, just one minor issue, the internal fittings/lock from the bathroom door handle was missing, so I was unable to close the door. I'm guessing it will be repaired soon. Bathroom small for a taller person..We stayed in room 22.

Cannot fault this place. Spotlessly clean, breakfast amazing, my room perfect. Free parking. The gardens, beautiful. Home from Home. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. There are no lifts, so please bear that in mind if you have mobility issues. Very close to train station, bus stop and sea front nearby. If walking, it's a bit hilly, but the exercise is good 😁 Would definitely stay again.

The hotel was spotlessly clean and the room was lovely. Very clean. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was adequate for our needs only the shower cubicle was a little too small for my 6ft 5 rugby player build partner but he managed and to be fair this is a problem with a lot of shower cubicles. A shower over the bath is better for us and so if you are on the larger side this may be a little issue but this was our only slight complaint but not really a real issue. The breakfast was beautiful and owner Lisa is very obliging and pleasant and the waitress was very polite and attentive. The owner goes above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay and is very friendly with a very infectious jovial demeanor and laugh.We had a lovely week and hope to return. Highly recommend and the hotel is far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for a nice walk out into Torquay for a lively night out. This hotel offers second to none hospitality.

There was nothing that we found fault with.

The full english or continental breakfast was exceptional - the best we have ever had. The room was fully equipped and cleaned to a high standard every day. The Hotel was in a quiet location, 4 minutes from the seafront, with easy access to public transport. The Hotel gardens and swimming pool were immaculate. There were good parking facilities.

Only issue in our room was that the lock on the bathroom door didn’t seem to work (room 22), but this wasn’t a major issue for us.

The staff were so welcoming and chatty, we felt at home. The whole hotel was extremely clean and the beds were amazingly comfy. The area was fantastic and was right next to the train station with a short walk into the city. Parking was also free and right outside the hotel so it was very convenient. A hairdryer was supplied in the room, along with soaps to use in the shower and a mirror which was great to get ready in.
