Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomUnfortunately we had to switch rooms as there was a pungent smell coming from shower plug hole. It turned out there were plumbing in the day that were sorted to have been resolved but they weren't. I would have scored higher but for this
Location was nice in own grounds and plenty of parking and just off M6 which we wanted. Staff were excellent and hotel was extremely dog friendly

United KingdomNothing, really. Some bits and bobs could do with an update but in other ways that was part of the charm. The room was on the warm side and as there's no air con a plug-in fan would have been handy. A point of note: we arrived from the north and the sat nav took us a right turn on to Centurion Way and to a gate at the rear of the building. That gate was padlocked. The proper entrance is further down Stanifield Lane on the right (there's a large sign).
Charming old property; something different. Friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of parking. Large room. Comfy bed. We had dinner, which was good value and very tasty and filling. Breakfast was included, but we didn't get up early enough. We were given late checkout FoC. Dog friendly.

United KingdomIt would have been good to have a safe, although to be fair, reception were happy to safeguard valuavbles when I went out.
THe room was spacious and comfortably furnished. It was pleasantly cool and I slept very well each night. There was ample desk space and plenty of storage. Lots of electrical sockets and USB ports. The bathroom was immaculate with an efficient shower. Good to have a window you could open. A word of commendation to Housekeeping: my room was restored to first day condition every succeeding day. All the staff were friendly and solicitous. The breakfasts were excellent in the very genteel setting of the restaurant.

United KingdomIt was a very hot night and there was no air conditioning nor was the a fan in the room. There were no rails to assist disabled people into and out of the bath which was rather short.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The location was good and the grounds were well laid out. The bedroom and en suite were clean and spacious.

United KingdomThe huge executive room(2) was very cold and unprepared when we arrived. Only 1 set of towels but quickly rectified. I did mention at reception before departure, that even the cheapest Airbnb provides 2 glasses and a bottle of water in the room, but we had to ask for a glass, and luckily provided our own water.
Lovely garden, superb, friendly and very helpful staff. Good evening meal and very good and substantial breakfast

United KingdomRoom had not been properly cleaned: cellophane wrappers and other bits were left around the bed, surfaces were not properly wiped and there was a general perception that it needed a better clean. Furniture was tired and a lick of paint would have helped, but everything worked in the room. Would also have liked a basic gym.
Nice looking hotel, good reception rooms downstairs. Decent breakfast. Plenty of parking. Quiet location with nice grounds. Room was large, although the decor was tired.
