Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

24hr reception however when the fire alarm went off there was nobody around.
Spent 2 nights at the four seasons hotel and I must say it was lovely, the staff couldn't have been nicer and nothing was too much trouble! The lady at reception is wonderful and very accomodating if you need anything. All round a really nice atmosphere. Breakfast staff are fab! Made us feel very welcome. Breakfast also very good.

Could hear my neighbour clear as day. They went to bed at 1.30am and got up at 6.30am. Some more sound insulation would do the trick. The I let water valve for the toilet made a racket, not sure what you can do with replacing the valve or fiddling with the water pressure to see if it can change it. The on site parking is a total misnomer, but I had no bother from parking on the promenade - both with finding a space and not getting ticketed. Still makes it worth my while even with small scale issues
Good facilities, cracking breakfast for a very good price.

Advertised as free parking on site. Four spaces for bout 30 rooms. So, no parking. Rooms very tired. Slamming fire door outside our room all night. Very thin walls.

Single glazed window. Perhaps double glazing or at the least secondary glazing would be a great benefit as I could hear people outside until the early hours.
The whole place was very clean. The breakfast was excellent. Great value for money.

We had a issue with noisy residents from the room above at silly o'clock 3.30/4am, the information to contact anyone is NOT in an obvious place ( a wall ) who on earth reads paper on a wall at silly o'clock . I would recommend to leave information/instructions on the reception desk and in every room . I.E a handy information booklet emergency details/ places to visit/ eat . A towel rail wouldn't go a miss either in the bathroom.
Four Seasons Hotel was very nice and clean,could do with a little make over in the room we stayed in. Painting especially behind the door in the bathroom. Some painting/ photos on the wall would have been nice as the walls were very plain in the room. The sink and bath had plugs detached but they were clean . Staff were really lovely. Breakfast was great ( we went early) so it was lovely and quiet with plenty of choice.

Only 4 parking spaces in hotel courtyard, street parking all taken in vicinity. Photo of room showed a 2 seater sofa but none in our room. Spec Said spa bath but we only had an ordinary bath. Tv in bathroom didn't work. No towels provided. Asked reception for some and waited for over half hour. Then went and asked again. They had forgotten! Spec Said chocolate was provided on arrival. We didn't get any. Spoke to staff about all the sbove, but they didn't seem overly concerned and no refund offered. Hoped for some response to our disappointment from hotel but none received.

They said they had free onsite parking but on arrival they said it was full, so had to find alternative parking. Managed to find a space about a ten minute walk away for £6 for 24 hours. Not much of a problem for me but less able people may be disappointed.
