Everything. Linda and Jonathon go the extra mile. High quality B&B from a hardworking lovely couple. We’ve never stayed in a B&B that comes anywhere near matching Grove House. Beautiful house and garden in a prime location within 10 minutes of York with a local bus and train route into the city.

Everything excellent. Good location as we were attending a birthday celebration in an adjacent village. Garden was well kept with outdoor seating for all guests and very relaxing

Everything from the moment we arrived to when we left was five star from our hosts including Penny (furry friend). Room immaculate, fantastic breakfast (homemade sausages) not including all the unexpected little extras in the room.

That we had to leave as soon as we did and that we couldn't take Penny home with us.

Linda and Jonathan (and Penny the dog!) were the most wonderful hosts, making us feel like we had popped over to see family for the weekend from the moment you stepped into the door. They made you feel at home right away and could not do enough to make our stay as lovely as possible. They were so friendly and down to earth. Breakfast was immaculate and could not fault a thing. All parts were thought about including the homemade bread and jams for the table. The room was beautiful and spacious, with the extra bits of fresh milk for teas and coffees, cold water, beer and wine and homemade shortbread adding the cherry to the cake! The whole house was spotless, could not fault a thing.

This place is an absolute dream! From the moment we arrived, Linda and Jonathan welcomed us with open arms—and delicious tea and cake! Our room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The thoughtful touches—like the tea and coffee setup, homemade biscuits, beer, and even champagne—made our stay feel truly special. Each breakfast was a feast in itself, with homemade sausages, bread and jams, locally sourced produce, and more. Every morning felt like a culinary delight that made it hard to leave. The helpful advice for sightseeing, transportation and more was appreciated and made our trip much more enjoyable. A special mention goes to Penny, the sweetest dog! We loved having her around and hope she enjoys many more happy, healthy years. She’s simply adorable. Thank you again for creating such a wonderful experience.

There is absolutely NOTHING not to love about staying here. The surroundings, their garden, their home, you truly couldn’t wish for better. If Booking.com had a higher rating than 10 you would most definitely be getting that rating from us. Totally perfect in every way. Thank you!

What’s not to like?!! This B&B is without a shadow of a doubt the BEST we have ever stayed in! Luxury, attention to detail, every little extra you could wish for to make this a unique and perfect stay. We loved our stay at beautiful Grove House. Grove House was very comfortable, had lovely personal touches and beautiful gardens. Linda & Jonathan were such warm, kind and friendly hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They gave us great advice on places to visit and the local train timetable. The breakfasts at Grove House were very yummy and beautifully presented. Linda and Johnathan coudnt have been more helpful and attentive. The acomodation was beautiful, comfortable. Lots of little extras to just make our stay lovley. Everything was spotless. The breakfast was fantastic. Again Linda and Johnathan bent over backwards to meet our need. Linda even offered me a lair of shoes (I had forgotten mine) for the wedding we were attending. I loved how quiet it was at night, I easily slept with the window open. All the facilities we needed and wanted, and those not seen were offered. Beautiful gardens.

Everything was great, from the homemade cake and biscuits to the sausage and black pudding. A very nice property with a lovely garden.Located in a nice village with a couple of pubs within a 5 min walk and a 5 min amble to the train station. Linda and Jonathon made us feel welcome on arrival, nothing was a bother to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing place to stay with great links to York, Harrogate and Leeds.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, even our travel stresses were taken care of 🤗

Great location, easy regular access to transport into the city of York and surrounding villages. Linda, Jonathan and Penny the wee dog made us feel like friends, their hospitality and attention to detail was excellent. We had a great choice and variety of freshly cooked breakfasts for vegetarians too, including home baked bread, croissants and sausages. Nothing was to much trouble, whether we wanted plant based milks, freshly brewed coffee or just a bowl of fresh fruit and yoghurt ❤️ The rooms were spacious, quite and spotlessly clean with a really comfortable king-size bed where we both slept better than we'd done for a long time. The room had tea making facilities with fresh milk each day and plenty of hot water for showers each day. There is the option to sit in their a beautiful garden, or take a walk to some great little pubs, which we thoroughly took advantage of. We hired a car, which was really problematic but both Linda and Johnathan were so helpful in suggesting alternatives, and even drove me to collect the vehicle the next day. Our stay was so good we didn't want to leave and have made a preliminary booking for when we return in a few months. Thank you so much for making our first stay such a memorable one, we look forward to seeing you both again real soon.
