Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

It is a very well maintained English house and I really loved the home-like atmosphere. Unlike numerous other guesthouses I have been to I got my full privacy in this place. Ric, who is the owner of the house was really nice and helpful.

United KingdomNot driving at the moment, hence made it quiet awkward for myself but the overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable
Countryside location in Oxfordshire, and very quiet with peaceful atmosphere. The sounds of birds in the morning made it worthwhile. Basically, it is a house with garden to sit and enjoy few beers while the sun is blasting.

Fantastic, clean and friendly place. For longer stays (we were only there two nights) you could make more use of the facilities like the kitchen and lounge area.

United KingdomAlthough advertised as a shared bathroom it would be better if a wash basin was also available in the bedroom.
Host prepared scrambled eggs for breakfast as alternative to continental breakfast. Secure parking and great garden area to sit if it had been warmer. Comfortable bed. Helpful and polite host.

United KingdomNadia and Ric were wonderful welcoming hosts, always very responsive to messages and ready to help with suggestions and directions. The room was large, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had everything we needed. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We walked from the guest house along the riverside cycle path into Oxford which was lovely.

New ZealandUnfortunately during our stay a section of the road between the accommodation and Oxford had flood damage which delayed the buses majorly. This made getting to Oxford quite difficult.
The house was very warm and comfortable. The surroundings are very quiet so we had the best sleep. The hosts are very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

NetherlandsThe owner (Ric) was very kind and helpful. Beautiful house, lovely rooms, very clean, felt safe, and instructions were very easy to follow. Mimi (the cat) is very gentle and sweet. She only has access to the kitchen and outside, unless you let her in to the rest of the house. Naturally, we loved her so we let her roam freely through the house (when there were no other guests around) and she even spent one of the nights with us! Honestly such a great stay and would so easily recommend and go back. For breakfast, you're a 3 minute walk from Proof Social Bakehouse (pricey but AMAZING pastries, check opening times on google maps), and 5 minutes to the bus stop to go to Abingdon or Oxford (about 15mins to get to either). Thank you!! Luis & Rick

United States of AmericaI was a little disappointed that I didn’t actually get to use the bathtub as there was not really enough hot water. I wish I had understood the expense of parking in Oxford, before deciding to rent a car and stay out there, honestly, I think this still worked out better overall though, and I would be happy to return there. The hosts really went above and beyond.
Lovely, mellow energy, a little closer to nature. The hosts were absolutely fabulous- kind, lovely, intelligent people and they made incredible bread every morning! Private and secure, very clean. An easy drive to Oxford. An easy walk across a beautiful wldish area of the Thames, to an excellent and enjoyable pub.

ItalyNadia’s house is all you need for a nice city escape immerse in the British countryside. If you’re looking for an authentic experience off-the-beaten track this your place. The room was very comfortable and the host very kind and helpful. What I like most are the bakery and the pub nearby, both very local and with excellent food range. If you’re a real outdoorsy you can an hour and half walk to Oxford along the river Thames with amazing landscape views, very relaxing.
