Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe cottage was charming, and all the facilities worked, but it was a little tired and in need of TLC. It was superficially clean when we arrived and we had to wash the cutlery, mugs and wine glasses before we could use them. Other than some dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and a sponge pad, there were no cleaning products, which would have been useful while we were there. These are only niggles though and nothing spoiled our stay.
A charming, cosy and comfortable cottage in a good location with a lovely garden and plenty of parking.

United KingdomRoad was a little tricky to get out of as a bit of a blind bend if turning right. We just turned left a lot of the time and u turned at the next juntion.
Good location, close to a couple of stately homes. Lots of room to park . Nice garden for dogs to use and sitting in the sun. Liked the log burner. Fire was already setup to light.

United KingdomThe road is noisy during the day but this only affects the adult bedroom at the front, and overnight it’s quiet. Sitting room could do with a switch around so everyone can see the tv in comfort… but I am a obsessive mover of furniture in my own home so that’s probably just me. Only one other annoyance - we suddenly lost power one day midweek between 10am and 1pm. This was apparently a planned outage that all properties affected knew about but we were not informed. It would have been good to know so we could have planned our day accordingly, however the landlord was helpful and prompt in getting back to us when we called for advice, and apologetic that she did not know, so very much a one off issue!
Easy to find with lots of parking. Clean and comfortable and larger than we expected. Children very happy with the cookies left for us on the kitchen table!

United KingdomUnfortunately, it hasn't been maintained well at all. The owners were aware we were bringing two big dogs with us, but when we checked the supposed enclosed garden, the fence that separated a very busy main road, had collapsed, with three of the fence posts rotted out. If we hadn't have checked first, with the road as busy as it is, I cannot see our dogs would have survived, had they ventured further out the garden. We rang the emergency number, they said they would be out at 8am the next morning. This was obviously no good to us so I looked in the cottage and shed and gathered up what I could to do a temporary repair on the fence to make it secure. The men did come out around 10 the next morning, but seeing what I had done, decided to leave it alone, as it was pouring with rain. In any case, had they done a proper repair of setting concrete posts in etc, the fence would not be there and we wouldn't have been able to let the dogs out anyway. It all should have been checked before we arrived. The rest of the fence in other parts are very fragile and we couldn't totally relax, in case our dogs made the holes bigger to explore further. Really disappointed as we couldn't relax, which is what the purpose of the visit was for. The cottage was also very grubby, there was a thick layer of grime on the fridge freezer, cobwebs in lots of places. The beds didn't smell fresh. Just overall we were very disappointed. We at least expected to hear from the owner, to thank us for repairing the fence but nothing.
The cottage in itself, is a beautiful period place. Lots of nice character to it.

United KingdomWe enjoyed our stay in Heather Cottage. It has some charming original features, is spacious and very well-equipped, has excellent parking and a pleasant back garden. The conservatory is a nice bonus though would benefit from some blinds to keep the temperature down on sunny days. It is next to a road which is very busy at times and can be noisy if you have the front windows open (but the double-glazing was effective at reducing the noise), and it is a little tricky exiting as visibility of approaching vehicles is restricted. We got used to this this though, so overall it did not spoil our time at Heather Cottage. The location is great for exploring North/East Norfolk etc.

United KingdomThe cottage desperately needed a deep clean throughout and looked tired and grimy. The lounge carpet didn't look like it had been hoovered in a long time. One of the single beds had lumpy springs and was uncomfortable. A lot of traffic noise - although this did become much less of a problem during the night.
Great off road parking. Spacious property.
