The facilities, while kept up and clean, were a bit old. Rather our bathroom was old. We had to step up 2 steps to get into it; which could be challenging in the dark.

The view from the outdoors area was beautiful and peaceful. The hotel was clean and in a relavtively easy location to find out in the country.

Mediocre buffet breakfast. Lift only to second floor. We were third floor signs to the lift would be helpful. This beautiful old building is in need of exterior refurbishment.

Long review incoming!! Lovely styled hotel with original features intact. The majority of staff were very polite and professional. Large rooms with basic facilities and does have tea/coffee features in the rooms. Myself and my husband are not usually picky, however, I have given 4/5 stars (which I think generous) due to a couple of reasons. One being that upon booking we were not aware there would be an event at the same time as our booking. Apparently there are events most weekends in the year (we asked reception, so please be aware of this!) the event prohibited the use of the lounge and bar during the day and evening on Saturday. After spending all day out of the hotel we planned to come back and sit out on the terrace with a few bevvies but this was not allowed. We felt out of place and upon speaking to other guests who were not part of the event, they felt the same. We were only there for the weekend and was never told, even when checking in, there was an event running so we could plan around this. Assumed due to the event, there was no parking spaces at the hotel. Other guests parked outside of the hotel grounds and walked up the drive to the hotel (onsite parking was one of the reasons we booked for ease) Lastly, there was no bathroom blind and the window panes were clear so anyone could see in at anytime whilst showering etc. I would have scored 3/5 as There was a couple of other things that lacked and could be improved on. However, as mentioned earlier the majority of staff were absolutely lovely, the hotel location is great, the food was brilliant and prices were reasonable throughout which bumped the score up. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel for a short stay with the disclaimer that most Saturdays will be booked for events, so if you are like us and get up and go in the mornings & throughout the day but be back at the digs for the evening, it might not be the right place for you if you are only staying the weekend!

My room (#26) needed a good face-lift. Carpets were not very clean. Ceiling was badly cracked and looked as though it was about to fall down. Paintwork was chipped and needed a fresh coat of paint. Bathroom needed an overhaul. Shower was just a trickle and water was tepid. I saw a friend'room and bathroom which was slightly better.

The location was amazing. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is a bit dated and worn in places. My bathroom was very clean and modern but the shower in my friend’s bathroom was not good. There was very little water pressure and having a shower was almost impossible. The ceiling in her room also looked as if it was about to fall in

The staff, particularly the Greek receptionist, were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is lovely and the snack/bar meal I had was really good

The cost quoted on Booking.com was less than what we were charged.

It was a little dated but consistent with the age of the building. Breakfast was fine. Parking was available with no issues.

No pressure in shower. Radiator didn't work. Bedside light bulb faulty (buzzing sound) so didn't use.

Lots of noise outside the bar area at night, after hours. When we were in the bar, the Staff were in and out of the bar/garden dealing with young guests who were in and out of the hotel. Every time they exited/ entered the bar through the garden door they slammed the door.

The bathroom was dirty, and the place was built as a Hydrospa, why doesn't the shower work? And alarms going off at night inside the hotel.

The room furniture was very tired. We opted for breakfast on checking in. The breakfast was not good value for money unfortunately and we were very disappointed. The cooked breakfast was not hot; only just warm. The tea was pre made in a large flask and tasted awful. I would rate the hotel on the low end of three star.
