Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsExcellent location for visiting the Globe Theatre as well as very close to good transport links. There was a super friendly and helpful guy on reception who set the tone for a very happy stay. My room was lovely with a great selection of teas and coffees, a bathrobe, charming decor and a lovely comfortable bed. The breakfast which was included was delicious with plentiful options that reached beyond the usual breakfast buffet. My only criticism was the lack of plug socket next to the bed for my phone, but this feels like splitting hairs as everything else was truly excellent.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything to make the stay any better.
The whole experience was great. The staff are extremely friendly knowledgeable and happy to give you their advice. The hotel is an oasis in a place where everything is glass and chrome. Food was terrific and the rooms are very quaint all on an Alice in Wonderland theme.

United KingdomI prefer a shower head that is angled and that you don't have to hold. I was served scrambled eggs which was not my interpretation of the dish. The hot water container on the sideboard must have been there a long time. It was far from hot.
Decent sized room with a good bathroom. We have stayed at the Mad Hatter a few times and know our way around the area so for us it's in a good location. A good selection of cereals, juices and bread with preserves. Excellent staff on reception.

United KingdomThe only negative was the fact that we couldn't close the top windows (Room 103) so it was very noisy, especially when the refuse truck turned up in the morning.

United KingdomWas a little on the expensive side, was definitely paying for the location more than anything. The facility itself was decent and food good.
Great location, good service, tasty food. Room was a little hot even with the fan but I blame that more on british weather than the hotel

AustraliaThe hotel rooms do not have air conditioning which proved to be a huge negative as we were in London with 30 plus temperatures. Our room had the sun beaming in almost all day so we kept the curtains closed but this still didn't stop our room from heating up excessively. The room we are in, 210 was often hotter than in the corridor and even outside. The hotel assisted by providing 3 fans.
This is a beautiful hotel, particularly the pub and restaurant. Our room was spacious with quality linen and we were pleased to have a mini fridge and quality tea and coffee facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location is great…close to many things. The staff is truly amazing. Sami and Luke make you feel so welcome and happily provide great suggestions for things to do and see. You almost feel like you are home! The pub is exceptional with a lot of choices for drinks and food. Al is a super barkeep and goes above and beyond to provide good service. We found ourselves drinking here most evenings because of the atmosphere. The Mad Hatter is a very special place.
