The only thing I can critique was the bedding quality. Very thin pillows and duvet.

A very traditional style B & B, lovely building in a lovely setting. Spacious size rooms and a fab breakfast.

Nightmare traffic reaching the place from Manchester Airport (took about an hour 5:30 to 6:30 pm) and also on towards Glossop next morning (that also took about an hour). Don’t know if that’s normal and just due to volume of traffic on roads with a lot of traffic lights? Don’t believe time estimates from Google maps anyway!

Location is lovely by the canal and on the edge of the Peak District. Good variety of places to eat nearby (I went to the Cambodian restaurant). Decent amount of parking in the driveway/front yard. It was quite full when I arrived but the host was really kind helping me squeeze in (thanks!), which was just part of the friendly welcome I received. I stayed in the basement / garden room, which was lovely and I appreciated having my own separate entrance via the garden. Breakfast was good and hearty and served very quickly.

For the price this was excellent value but elderly/disabled guests need to be aware that some rooms are up two flights of stairs - the second being narrow. Not all rooms are en suite but this is clear when booking.

Easy to find without going through connurbation. Good parking. Friendly and welcoming host. Excellent full English breakfast. Interesting Arts & Crafts house with lovely garden. Very clean. Pet friendly.

Nothing significant... If you're all about modern decor and aesthetics then it's probably not the place for you. Otherwise it's perfect for a short stay in Marple.

Quirky, not modernised, but very welcoming and homely. Whilst decor is outdated, it's clean and comfortable, with friendly down to earth staff and a good breakfast. Discovered a lounge just before leaving too with a small pool table, guitar and board games. Quiet place with nice views to the rear. Close enough to canal, Marple Bridge, town centre and train station.for low carbon travel.

The room we had was on the top floor up some steep stairs which was absolutely fine for us but might be an issue for anyone with limited mobility.

Very good value, comfortable bed and great breakfast.
