Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. No shower gel, plenty of shampoo, and nice clean towels.
Orlando was very accommodating,there was no dinner or breakfast. However, it met our needs. we were a 15 min walk from UEA, shower was functional room was comfy and tv worked. If you're looking for a 5-star and a cooked meal, this is not for you, if your looking for a comfy room, a friendly host, and don't mind going out for food, then this is the place for you.

It would have been apprecciated to have tea making facilities in the room.
The location to Norwich was excellent. Good to have parking. Room was adequate, bed comfortable. Small shower in bedroom, toilet in room next door,. Owner was very helpful and lovely to have a good chat with him. We only stayed for one night, so it was just a base to sleep.

The water was cut off on the morning we left, the room had two doors one of which was not lockable and blocked by a small cabinet The shower is separated from the room by a glass door with no privacy which is far from ideal when sharing with family

Toilet not in room but close enough to room to be not a serious oroblem

Thought it had an en suite but only a shower and sink in the room. This may have been stated in the description but might not have booked if I'd have known it was a shared toilet

To have tea and coffee made available in the room would have been good, other than that we can't complain.
It was in a great location for our weekend trip, Orlando's went out of their way to make us feel very welcome, also made us a cooked breakfast which was much appreciated,Thank you 😊

There's nothing I didn't like. Maybe it could be a little cheaper for what it actually is, but other than that, not bad at all
The man who owns the building was very down to earth and showed me everything I needed to know about the room I stayed in.

The initial appearance is of somewhere a little neglected. But as long as the rooms remain clean don't let that put you off as it's very good value of you just need a bed for a night or two.
The owner is extremely friendly but frail. The room and bed sheets were clean and the water was hot - the three most important basics. Despite obvious frailty the owner was extremely friendly.

Garden overgrown. Lots of house plants and spices.
Warm welcome. Friendly host who made a lovely cup of tea on arrival. Super cooked breakfast. Close to University on bus route to City centre and train station.

The room was quite small, as is the toilet in the room. The beds weren't that comfortable for me but this depends on your preference. Overall great value for money and a perfect stop over or cheap place to stay for one or two nights
Good location, only a short walk away from the uni grounds where we we seeing a couple of bands and ample free parking just outside. Also great value for money.

Bath area is very small.
Location is very good as it is 15 min walking distance to University of East Anglia. I went to meet my son who is studying in UEA. We also got excellent Indian food. Mr. Orlando himself is very good person.

There was no curtain-rail or door between the bedroom and the shower. It meant we had to engineer going on walks when the other wanted to shower.
Comfy bed. Very good host, who was willing to cook breakfast and make the 2 nights as pleasurable as possible. Very relaxed atmosphere, with coming and going. Due to trains, we had to leave very early on the Sunday morning, and it was very easy to do,
