Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe breakfast options were not readily accessible.. the menu suggested that pastries were available but in reality there was only one croissant and one pan de chocolate available by the time our group of 8 arrived down for breakfast. Also we had to ask for extra toast and the marmalade and butter had been put away before we had a chance to take . Disappointing really Also the leg of the side cupboard in our room ( room 8) fell off and the radio on top fell on my foot… not a problem but it was unexpected !
Very clean great location and very nice staff

United KingdomNothing really. I suppose as we have been a few time now we are reaching the limits of the menu. Maybe a specials board would be in order.
This is our third stay at the Alexander Pope. This time we were hear for my birthday. The room was very comfortable with a good view (I had opted for a room with a balcony). My son his wife and my grandson also had a room here. The room was well furnished, clean, good bedding and towels and a very nice bathroom and shower. There is a fully stocked mini bar in the room which of course you need to pay for if used. Food at this pub is always good, breakfast offerings are wide and there should be something to suit everyone. as allergies are catered for and vegan options to. The all-day menu is not that large but the food we had in the evenings was very tasty and good value for money. My wife had booked Sunday lunch for 10 of us which incuded children ages 2, 6 , 9 ,14. The staff were unbelievebly helpful and helped slice and serve up a massive cake I was bought, to help out. The Sunday roast itself was very nicely cooked and portions were good. Nothing was too much trouble It makes a great base for further exploration of London and its now our go to hotel when we visit family in Twickenham.

United KingdomQuite close to Heathrow flightpath for aircraft noise, our room was in the roof so if your a light sleeper [Me] take some earbuds [My wife & daughter didn't hear anything 😴].
The hotel was great, our family room was huge. It felt very comfortable with everything you would need - Satellite TV / Minibar / Coffee Pod Machine, etc. Great location being close to the train station & Twickenham but still out of the way of the hustle & bustle.

Julia was very helpful and hospitable. We arrived early due to our morning flight and they managed to checked us in to a lovely room. Location as always was good, near to St Mary's University, bus stop right in front of the hotel and walkable distance to Twickenham. We enjoyed the yummy breakfast and dinner as well. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

United KingdomGround floor room suffered with noise from reception / main pub. 'Modern' light up and twist for temperature tap seemed cool but cant control flow? Seems odd. Sky box and wifi in room poor service. Asked twice via email/booking.com before our visit for dairy free milk in the room as wife lactose intolerant and also if i could pay extra for any special touches for her birthday, seems both messages were ignored or missed
Sunday Roast dinner was amazing, like one of the best I have ever had. Staff very friendly and helpful. Big comfy bed , room was clean, powerful shower.

United KingdomIn the middle of the night, there was a scraping, scratching noise--rodents, squirrels? I don't know. Unsettling.
I was in Room 29, and found a terrace with a sun deck, overlooking gardens leading down to the Thames--fantastic.

United KingdomFloorboards are very creaky but I don’t suppose much can be done about that!
The room was clean and comfortable and met our needs. It’s a nice hotel in a great location and has parking which is a major plus in Twickenham if you’re driving there. The staff were polite and professional - special mention for Jodie who was wonderful in the restaurant and really enhanced our stay. The food was great, fairly small menu but all beautifully cooked and presented. It’s on a busy road but they’ve created a nice (heated) outside space from which the lovely view can be enjoyed.

DenmarkThe main drawback is the building itself. Aesthetically pleasant, but very noisy. Creaking floorboards from the room above. No double glazed windows meant the road was very loud. Even with ear plugs, sleeping was difficult at times.

United KingdomThe price and quality of the food is very disappointing. As my husband has mobility issues we had to eat in the bar/restaurant. The sandwich I was served on arrival was dreadful and I wish I had complained. Dinner (cod) was nit hot and I complained but all our party agreed it wasn't value for money. The following day I chose a Ceasar salad. It certainly was not no anchovies, no walnuts. Simple a like gem lettuce smoutherd in mayo with crunchy bread crumbs and lots of cheese. Very disappointing.
Didn't have breakfast . We have stayed previously and don't think it is value for money.
