Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There was nothing we did not like, however there are stairs!
Very good location. We had a view room overlooking the ocean and could easily walk to the town. Breakfast was excellent with a good variety of everything.

More choice for breakfast.
Location good. Staff helpful. Dogs were welcome. We had booked an overnight stay some weeks before but were unable to attend. I asked if it was possible to cancel but was told it had to be done 48 hours before booking. Fair enough but that was not pointed out when I booked. When I checked my bank account I had been charged for 2 nights not 1!!! My husband spoke to the manager/owner who said he would look into it but so far no refund.

The stairs has the lift didn't work and struggled bit has wife gets short of breath after Hart attack and few bulbs missing in lights

Very friendly staff. The location is perfect. The room was clean and comfortable and they are dog friendly. Breakfast buffet was decent.

Breakfast didn't seem to have enough food out. Staff were never about to meet you had to wait to see someone to ask for tea/coffee but they were pleasant maybe understaffed?
Nice airy bedroom/ensuite. Location was perfect with outlook to the beach/sea.

Lift was scary and stopped whilst my husband was using it. There were a lot of stairs. Our room had a faulty toilet so we had to move to a different one.
Room was comfortable and well equipped, view was lovely, breakfast had lots of choice and was plentiful.

Very loud outside the room late into the night and the room had no signal The lift is abit scary as it seems old but that's more a fear of mine then anything
Place was clean, had a bathroom and was a nice place to stay for the night. No issues with the room that i could find

The mattress was poor quality and had more dips than a rollercoaster. We had to put a blanket on top but it didn't really work. I asked for a double but I think we got a compact.
The breakfast and the sea view are both outstanding

On Saturday night I was woken on a couple of occasions by the sound of other guests talking as they walked past our room, but not sure there is much that can be done about that!
Very good location - was nice to drift off at night listening to the sound of the sea right across the road! Only had breakfast one morning but staff were friendly & there was a good selection.

Room next door to us had a yapping dog. That i complained about. Not the hotels fault. Breakfast could of been hotter.
We had a see view front room. Very comfy bed. Staff were lovely.

Little niggles. One bedside lampshade was wobbly and didn't fit the lamp properly. The headboard had to be lifted to get at the plug socket to switch it on or the other bedside lamp wouldn't turn on. We didn't see any staff at all apart from at breakfast so it felt a bit detached. We've stayed before and there's always been someone atound reception.
It was warm clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice and staff there were pleasant and friendly.

Quite a narrow feel to the stairwell, but OK. The fire doors shut hard right at the top of each set of steps which was not very safe for our supported living daughter. The window in room 8 screamed all night in the gales ... our daughter was given a different room straight away though when we mentioned it.
We stayed between Christmas and New Year, so certain rooms in the hotel were closed to us, such as the bar and staff were unavailable for the first day or so. The staff we met on the last couple of days were lovely. It felt a little odd to walk 8 minutes to another hotel for breakfast, but OK. Lovely location, watching the waves crashing in front of us from the window and hotel basic but very clean and comfortable.

The wind groaned through the double glazed window all night - not sure if anything can be done about that.
Staff upgraded my room as I was travelling alone. A lift was available. Ample breakfast attended by attentive staff. The seaview was appreciated.
