Minor complaint was the noise from the pub, but to be expected when booking a room above a pub

Unfortunately room 5 is above an extractor fan, impossible to have the window open, they did supply a fan but it wasn’t up to much so we had a disturb sleep

I liked everything about this place, the pub was very welcoming proper country local. Rooms were clean, decent size, beds comfy. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We had booked 2 rooms for 1 night but changed my mind last minute and asked to arrive the day before, Suzy was very quick getting back to me saying it was no problem. I also left my purse and keys in the room, Suzy once again came through and sent them back home for me free of charge. Also lady at breakfast both mornings was so friendly. Would definitely stay again if I'm down that way as only 30mins from manchester

There was no outlook from the room.

The room was especially comfortable, clean and quiet. It was convenient and I felt very safe staying there. I hadn’t booked a table in the adjoining pub / restaurant on a very busy Monday evening; but they immediately accommodated me and I had a delicious meal. I would definitely stay here again.

The only nitty gritty was the carpets were not hoovered on the stairs leading up to the rooms and top of pictures were very dusty in the hallway, top of the beds and pictures in the bedroom. The banister spindles needed cleaning. And it was dusty. I was a head housekeeper so I know where things get missed. Just a little more attention to detail needs to be achieved.

The decor was beautiful, the view was lovely seeing the animals across the road. The bed was amazing, the only way I can describe the comfort.. imagine being lifted up to heaven on a cloud, but 10 times more comfier than a cloud, i imagined that's what dying feels like when you sleep in their beds. It was amazing. The bathroom was lovely. It was a bit gutting that the breakfast wasn't on when we booked We were advised where to go if we wanted breakfast so that wasn't an issue. The little pub next door was lovely and cosy. It felt like we were joining a family. Pizza is something you need to try on the menu.

I'm a bit of a challenge to find the right mattress whenever I travel, this one was ok but not great for me personally.

proximity to a wedding venue I attended, (Tipis at Riley Green), staff were very friendly great pub, and good Chinese next door, room was clean tidy and perfect for our needs. Plenty of parking too

Pub closed in morning when I had not known beforehand that it would be, and nowhere else on village open for breakfast. Had to walk to bottom lock to find somewhere open. Suggest this made clearer on booking, maybe it was but I did not notice it, so could have made arrangements.

Comfortable bed. Nice shower. Mugs, not just cups, on hospitality tray.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Restaurant menu extensive, very good value and thoroughly enjoyable.Many thanks to the Maitre D for accommadating us on a very busy Saturday evening. Accommadation was clean, comfortable ,modern,very good. Will definitly be returning in near future.

Be nice to have breakfast but there are cafes nearby. We were in Bowness on Windermere just over an hour after leaving so had breakfast there.

Location works for me. Clean and quiet room with a comfy bed. Pub meals are very good and the ales are even better. Plenty of parking and very friendly staff.

What a find! The perfect location for anyone who needs to be near the motorway, but also have the peace and quiet of the countryside. Well decorated, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. The room wasn’t huge, but it had everything we needed. Lovely, powerful shower too!
