We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United KingdomThe hotel and the room really need a re fresh and update old stained carpets, old thin curtains that don't keep out the light. Holes and dirt marks all over walls. The pictures of the room looked lovely but do not reflect the tired worn outdated surroundings. I just felt for 171 for a night it didn't feel like I got what I paid for.

CanadaRoom was extremely hot. Sun was shining and curtains were open. Obviously in northern Scotland that might not be a regular occurrence, but we “lucked” out. Bathroom was spacious but toilet was very noisy and privacy film on bathroom windows was discoloured and looked unclean. Side window was missing lever to open. Food was just okay. Breakfast options were not extensive.

We only stayed for one night but had a lovely meal in the evening (my wife had the steak and I had the macaroni cheese, both highly recommended) and a good breakfast in the morning. This property is ideally situated to visit John 'O' Groats. The room we stayed in was across the road from the main hotel and bar and was clean, decent and functional and looked as if it had been refurbished in the recent past
