Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWi-Fi is unsecured. The buffet breakfast did not have fried eggs and bacon only luke warm.
The hotel is located off a roundabout on the A388 and was very well located for the business I was doing. Staff were polite and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, with free in room Wi-Fi. The food was good in the evening. Breakfast from 07.00am, was buffet style. Checking out was easy. I would highly recommend The St Mellion Estate and would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomUnfortunately it was the same old story of the creaky floors. I have commented on this on many occasions that I have stayed at St Mellion but nothing ever seems to get done about this. I was actually advised by a very helpful receptionist that it is quite a big hotel and this would take lots of money to fix, no mention of early awakenings as herds of golfers make their way along the creaky corridors ready for their early morning round of golf. The breakfast was great in choice but maybe the introduction of a microwave would help create some heat in the offerings on the hot plate. One last thing to mention is the non-finishing touches to the cleaning routines within the eating areas. We sat by the window in the restaurant area looking out to the 18th green and commenting about what a lovely view to then look up at the ceiling above us to see celebratory coffee stains splattered onto the ceiling, they did appear to have been there for quite a while. This was then backed up with ten to fifteen sets of grubby hand prints smeared across the windows.
St Mellion is ideally located for me and it is a perfect gateway into Cornwall.

United KingdomBeing told on booking in no room held in.my name. I had amended the booking made a year ago from 2 rooms to 1 4 weeks ago. I was notified on 14 March payment for 1 room had been successful. I also received an email on the day of departure. This was so upsetting the day before our Daughter's wedding. St Mellion were able to accommodate us by offering us their only available room at an additional £55. I feel we should be reimbursed by booking.com.
Closeness to Oakridge St Mellion also booked for Daughter & her bridesmaids.

United KingdomStaff weren't in the slightest friendly or welcoming, of the many staff I encountered only the female life guard and the breakfast server were friendly, everyone was polite and knew their job but the welcoming element was missing
The spa facilities were amazing, breakfast was great.

United KingdomVenue looked a bit tired compared with our last stay. Lunch room was full of dishes with not enough staff to clear them promptly. Considering the price I was a little disappointed.

United KingdomThe only negative about our stay was the creaky floorboard to access our room.
Comfortable beds in a great location. My daughter adored the swimming and the Elemis products in the bathroom felt like luxury. Lovely produce both in the rooms and restaurant. I didn't get to the gym this time but it looked amazing through the door.

United KingdomRoom too hot, a/c wasn't working. Food basic, room service very limited. The whole resort is geared to large golf parties, which means drunken noise until the small hours. Walls in bedrooms paper thin.

United KingdomDoor slamming shut where people weren't catching the door quick enough at 6am waking me up every morning. Could do with soft closing doors. More than one hot chocolate sachet a day when there are 2 people staying in a room
Breakfast was a good selection. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Fitness suite was good. Pool a decent size. Evening food, we ate in the bar and was a fair selection and was tasty. Selection of drinks in the room was good and bed was comfy

United KingdomNo obvious recycling facility's at the bungalow or near by . No door mat inside the front door. Grass cuttings and leaves left by entrance door which gave rise them ending inside the hall way.
Ease of access and the privacy afforded us by using a self catering unit. Lovely location. Enjoyed standing on the edge of the golf course (when unused at night) star gazing.

AustriaThe receptionist gentleman and especially the lady in charge for breakfast don't really seem to enjoy their job. No wellcome and very short. The staff for breakfast with the lady in black did not appreciate our presence at all it seemed. She was all annoyed because we came in from the wrong door. absolutely rediculous for a good hotel staff. " good morning gentlemen, wellcome to our breakfast, may I show you your table" or something like that would be an idea. And if you say breakfast is from 0700 I would expect your staff to wellcome the people already waiting a few minutes ahead or at least on time and should not let them wait in front of a closed door an ignoring your guests. We could hear their thoughts when they saw us.!!!
excellent dinner and very good bar food ( pizza ) the girl serving dinner seemed very well trained and did an excellent job The young man serving our evening snack on the next day also was very polite and helpfull, excellent service.
